Hi Spiff,

....

Plus the D works by zonal marking, right? So there'll be space for the TEs to exploit v the dime.

Browsing the suggestion forum there's a lot to be found. The biggest issue I have with the engine is that gameplanning does not pay off the way it should.

For example, this is a nice suggestion from alexhans84 to reduce the guessing and reward the guys that do actual gameplanning:
Offensive and Defensive Coordinators
This is something similar I brought up: Opponent Scouting

A few more random suggestions that would improve the engine:
Defensive Marking
Increase the Out-of-Position Penalty
Sack algorithm

While I concede that not everyone has to agree with all the suggestions or have to rate them as perfect, you can't say that there aren't enough ideas out there to improve the engine. In another thread, a guy showed the pass stats against the Big-I which were not good. At all.

After playing this game for a full year I think there are too many random factors involved. As a coach, it's just not possible to make a strategical impact.

I put the Euromillions lottery on last Friday and the engine stopped me from winning.

No the engine isn't perfect but it's an improvement on 2.0 and a vast improvement on 1.0.

Hi Spiff,

I looked at the game and ok you got most decisions in your PB spot on. However, isn't the dime a play specifically designed to prevent the huge play by giving up yards underneath? It's the 44 yard TD from the Big I vs the 3-4-4 you scored that concerned me though 1 WR and 2 TE vs 2 CB 1 FS 1 SS and 2 OLBs? Completion yes but I would expect to see a plethora of missed tackles there except you see one by a SS who isn't as good at positioning but his vision was far superior. Personally I would expect my TEs to destroy most CBs covering them in a SG2 v Dime situation due to there superior strength. With the exception of the odd play here and there I think he played your offense pretty well to be fair.

441 total yards vs 260 total yards
33 first downs vs 8 first downs
40 mins time of possession vs 20 mins time of possession

47.0% overall vs 54.4% overall

An offensive outburst against a far superior team by using just three different offensive formations while the defense had the perfect formation on each play against one of the three. (Shotgun 2 WR vs Dime)

Should not happen and it takes the fun out of the game.

EDIT: Sorry, not three different formations, it was just two: I-Form and Shotgun 2 WR.

Sorry, wasn't the I-Form Big, just the I-Form.

I think that there are many suggestions both listed above and previously posted that could be used to improve the game as a whole. Pete will happily agree that this is nowhere near the finished article but this is something that is several years in the making that has taken a lot of hard consumption of the black stuff to get to where it is now.

Ah I had similar results in my game against Devon:
I-formation 5-3-3 13 / 29 / 2.2 22 / 79 / 3.6

But they MOTY'd me so assumed it was down to that. fwiw I don't think the I needs tweaking (it might be too strong if anything).

it seems this new engine v3 is quite the worst thing we ever came up with.

to keep other discussions clean i guess it is the best way to provide this place for any kind of engine v3 related nightmares, all the psychological trouble this engine might have caused, could be solved.

just take a seat on the chair...and tell about your pain!

i will start: this engine caused my knockout of the supercup, much worse...caused by one of the worst teams on earth - sorry strepitoso for this call...finally the engine caused me to play wildcard po`s vs preachie...because it ranked the sheep wrong, and gave them an one point advantage over me...shame on you, engine...

found sarcasm? dont tell anyone!

It was sarcasm or joke?
