I took a look at the RB stats of the last three years to see which guys come out on top, after the passing game took off in Season 6 with the new engine. It seems like a neat way to see which guys still perform well as a second dimension in a new offensive enviroment.

HONORABLE MENTION

Thanh Mis - Budapest Wolves

In terms of yardage since Season 6, he is actually Top 5, but his 5 TDs are a shadow of what a threat he was to score in the Dead Ball Era. Hes is just 26 years old, so there is a chance to bolster his resume in the tail end of his (probably HoF-heading) career.

NUMBER 5

Casey Gardner - Juan Renegades

With 2860 rushing yards since Season 6, Gardner technically is 112 yards behind Mis, but his battle was uphill all the way: throughout his career he was always part of loaded backfield with Lyndon Smith (who also places in the Top 10, but is now retired). Gardner has already a ton of experience, but is still just 24 years old, so he is not going anywhere but up regarding the Top 5, and he is one of the premiere Red Zone threats in the league: His 24 rushing TDs since season 6 rank him third in the League among active players.

NUMBER 4 *

Loyd Kendrick - (formerly of the) Dolphins Pisa

#4 has a big asterisk, which I'll get to soon, but if we take into account Season 6 - 8 rushing stats, his name has to be on this list: Like Mis, he practically disappeared from the Redzone (5 TDs), but he rushed for a whopping 3527 Yards, which puts him a big step over Gardner. He was a big part why the Dolphins climbed out of 3-13 to the playoffs for the first time last year. But. And here comes the asterisk, Kendrick was cut 5 days ago because of financial difficulties in Pisa. He is now without team and his departure leaves a big questionmark in the power structure of the AC West.

NUMBER 3

Iker Garcia - Canco Hunters

Garcia is actually second in yardage, but his 17 TDs place him decidedly in the middle of the pack (and well behind #2), so this toss up was decided by scoring threat. Garcia is a legend in the Thunder and already Top 5 in all time rushing. He didn't miss a beat transitioning to the new rules, and he seems to actually get better and better each year: He ranked 7th in the League in the first year of the pass, then 5th, then 3rd. Barring injury, Garcia will finish in the Top 3 all-time, as one of the best backs of that first generation. Among those, not many didn't care when everyone started to throw the football like he did.

NUMBER 2

Günther Senner - Vienna Falcons

Enough of all these AC West RBs? Well, tough luck, this division just breeds workhorse backs. Günther "Ayrton" Senner is the youngest of the bunch, and only played one year in that mythical land before the pass explosion where RBs could roam free among 8-man boxes. He lead the league in rushing in that year as a rookie, so it was not clear if he entered the League "too late", but he responded with 3563 Yards and 25 TDs in the three years after his OROY campaign. Senner especially shines in the playoffs, where he has lead the League in ruhsing for three seasons in a row, despite his team never reaching the Bowl.

NUMBER 1

Zdenek Bubenik - Slavia Pankrac

Speaking of Bowls, this guy played in five before finally winning one in his sixth try. That alone speaks to how seemlessly he transitioned to the new game. The all-time rushing leader is not only in this position because of what he did in the Dead Ball Era, he is - with 4904 Yards and 30 TDs - miles ahead of everybody else after Season 5 too. Two rushing titles (Season 6 & 7) are a testament to that. Bubenik still has something left in the tank, so repeat(s) and rushing titles are always within his reach. It was weird to see him "lose" the rushing title just in the year where Slavia finally managed to win it all, and Oto Dragouns is slowly eating more and more carries out of that big pie they bake in Prague, but make no mistake: Bubenik had 182 postseason rushes in the last three years, and this alone proves how valuable he is to the current titleholder in the Thunder 1.1

What's your take on this? Does anybody have other guys they think should be on this list? I think it's really interesting how the RB position develops with the passing game so open and the addition of the Single Back Sets. Just like the NFL, it could become one of the most undervalued positions on the roster soon.

Ok, i think i choose the wrong numbers the first time.

Those numbers on the players page lead obviously more to an 'international' comparison, since they include SC games and CoC as well.

To correct that i used this time the numbers of the 'Team stats' page, using 'League games without playoffs'. That is probably, what this all should be about. I took the stats of season 6 to 8 and I also took the stats of wiesengrunds Linser, since they looked good. (edit, since i deleted my old posting due to stupidity know this: i also added Bauer and Schäfer, two of my guys)

Link to excel sheet, choose sheet 3 down in the left corner

My ranking is now:
1. Bubenik
2. Senner
3. Garcia
4. Bauer
5. Gardener
6. Schäfer
7. Linser
8. Kendrick

Suprisingly, only some minor changes in the ranking occured, allthough the numbers are quite different (see Sheet 2 of the external link above).
Since i this time also collected the fumbles, Bubenik got even stronger! In 100 attempts, he has the fewest says the math, just 0.65 fumbles in 100 carries
Between Senner and Garcia it is still a tough one. I put Senner in front cause he has more TDs...it is close though.

I put my guy Bauer on four now. I know, he hasn´t the absolute numbers in terms of yardage, but he has enough TDs and an astonishing league high 5,4 yds/carry average over that three season span

Bauer leads a wolfpack consisting of him, Gardner and Schäfer. Those three guys have the highest yds/carry-ratio and also the best TD/carry ratio of all players i considered.
All three have 'only' between 500 and 600 rushes, Bubenik has over 1000, Senner and Garcia around 800.

edit:
damn, i edited my old post instead of posting a new one
All the stuff i wrote
Damn it!
But one thing: Bubenik is a Hall-of-Famer

edit2:
which guys are missing, guys?

Yes, it is a bit tricky to get the correct numbers, since most players stats pages collect all official games. I also had to go through the HoF Season by Season and taking only the League Games w/o playoffs. But the gut feeling still comes out at the same guys, that makes sense of course.
