I'm fascinated by ESPN's yoyoing power ratings each weeks, each pundit's views, and their own allegiances.. so for a bit of fun, I've done a Sea Devils top 10.
All my opinion of course, and you are welcome to send me yours so I can make it a joint effort! What is noticeable - only 1 of my top 10 has a team which is in the top 100 salaries.. down at #84. We have some financial powerhouses in our league! #1 - Lucea Cardinals (4-0) - no surprise here - even though they have been arguably below par so far this season, no team has got within 3 scores of them. Though their reliance on the big play makes them a little vulnerable, and it's not often we have been able to say that before! #2 Leeds Celtics (4-0) - a rearrangement of defensive personnel during the off season now seems to be bearing fruit, and combined with a top QB, star wideouts and a true committee of quality RBs, the offense has started motoring. #3 Huddersfield Hippos (4-0) - consistently punching above their weight, the Hippos have have a tough schedule so far this season and have handled it admirably. They combine balanced offense with consistent D, #4 Naprzod Marsz (3-1) - they will almost certainly be bitter as to the manner in which they lost to the Cardinals, but the signs are there that Poland's #1 team are still up there with the very finest in RZA. #5 Solihull Moors (4-0) - Stifling D has been their hallmark for the last 3-4 seasons, and this season has been no different. Forced to come from behind today, they show offensive inconsistencies still against the strongest opponents. A young roster bodes well for further improvement. #6 Venice Panthers (3-1) #7 Devon Warriors (4-0) #8 Gotham City Bats (4-0) #9 Monster Piskots (3-1) #10 Carinthian Cowboys (2-2) Last edited on 2013-10-15 22:39:15 by JonnyP |

Sea Devils 2.1 Top 5 SUPER POWER RANKING
1: Primorska Partisans How is this team even down here? Obvious favorites to win the championship. 2:michigan state spartans Impressive last season, and one of the front runners in getting to the bowl game. Has played the most non bot teams so the strength in competition gives a small edge over the 3rd ranked team. 3: Cool Runnings Id say its super close between this team and the 2nd ranked team. Plays the #1 ranked team twice, this team could go up in power rank easily with some wins, or stay here with losses. 4: Chrzanów Grizzlies I think perhaps a tier below the top 3 teams. Strong signs of strength though, making a good run in the playoffs losing to the promoted Tyrolean Twix's last season in divisional. 5: Gdansk Redskins If I could do a 3 way tie between this team, Sacramento XSV and SH Cougars I would. But I think the Redskins have just a razors edge advantage over myself and the Cougars. Notable mentions: Næstved Dolphins - good team going bot likely Aufhausen Pioneers - same as Dolphins SH Cougars - rough record last season, low pc this season Sacramento XSV - Wins in friendlies, crumbles against real opponents |

Was pushing for playoffs then overspent on the TM and never really seemed to recover from the morale/losing a few players hit. |

#1(=) - Lucea Cardinals (5-0) - the boom and bust offense shows a little more bust than boom nowadays, but the all-powerful D continues to keep the Cardinals on top of the pile.
#2(=) Leeds Celtics (5-0) - redzone jitters must be overcome if they are to go further in the playoffs than last season #3 (up 5) Gotham City Bats (5-0) - obliterated top-drawer opposition today, on their day the Bats are a match for anyone #4 (down 1) Huddersfield Hippos (5-0) Forced to come from behind against lowly opposition today to preserve their unbeaten run. #5 (=) Solihull Moors (5-0) - the winning run continues, though unconvincing against hopeless, rudderless Podsabotin, who rank dead last. #6 (up 1) Devon Warriors (5-0) - dispatched solid opposition today - a much tougher schedule awaits over the next few weeks, time for them to prove their mettle. #7 (down 3) Naprzod Marsz (3-2) - Must be able to consistently beat the tougher teams in order to challenge either the Cardinals or the Celtics, maybe today was just a blip? We will see. #8 (up 1) Monster Piskots (4-1) - victors in a shootout against Venice today, the Piskots are going well, need to put past inconsistencies behind them. #9 (down 3) Venice Panthers (3-2) - even at this early stage it is looking like they will not repeat, the O is potent, the D has holes. #10 (=) Carinthian Cowboys (3-2) - one of the best of the rest, the big passing Cowboys can only realistically chase a wildcard 11/12/13 - Firenze Fappers/SV Furpach/Shoulderriding Raccoons Last edited on 2013-10-19 19:29:43 by JonnyP |
