Well lads I am back in 1.1 with my new team. A team that is noway ready for being much more than a makeweight, so I look forward to having my first ever losing season in the seventeenth season of playing this brilliant game. Two seasons of playing mainly Bots have resulted in me visiting the TM to build a squad that will hopefully bring me some victories during Season 18. Once everything has been set for the new season I will once again start presenting a pre-season show and hopefully recommence my weekly match prediction, if anyone wants to join in, please do and if you want to find out what we did before when I had my original team have a look back on old season posts prior to Season 15. So for now it's just to say "Hi Guys" and I'll get to know you over the coming season and hopefully this Thunder Forum will become active once again. Bova |

My original team was Guisborough Priors, which I started on 20th December 2011 in Thunder 2.1 and with the exception of that first season, when there was still the odd bot team about, between Season 3 and Season 15 I never had a losing season. Then when I moved home in December 2014, I decided to let the team go Bot and start up all over again with a fresh team for my new home. I didn't expect to end up playing mainly Bots for 2 seasons, but I didn't want to do Bot flush after the first season in order to build the stadium to get funds to use to supplement the squad to have a chance to perform reasonably well at 1.1 level. Though originally I had hoped in would take a couple more seasons and have the chance to play against other human managers at level 2 to have time to mess about with the playbook, which is something you cannot really do against Bots or the occassional friendly, so Season 18 becomes my new experimental playbook season and as the squad is not 60+ rated yet I forsee a difficult season ahead for me. Just noticed that 1.1 is closing Season 17 with 10 bots (could go to 11 during season rollover), which will probably mean that Season 18 could be having at least 9 bots and mean that we could have the argument about PD over Div/Con wins for deciding divisional positions and play off places again. Also at the moment there are only 26 managed teams at level 3 which will also mean that we could be carrying bots in 1.1 for a couple more seasons after Season 18. |

I don't know exactly how it is working with this deactivation of D3 Leagues but I would hope to stay at least one more season at level 2. Don't blame you Jetto, originally I had hoped to spend 2 or 3 seasons at level 2 to strengthen the squad and to play about with the playbook. I think Pete is going to make sure that people will not move up from Level 3 to Level 1 unless they have okayed it, but going to level 2 would be almost certain. Okay guys welcome in Season 18.
Pete's major shake up of clearing the level 3 divisions has ended up with 1.1 having a full compliment of managed teams and a worrying difference in team skill levels. The main prediction of the season - - SERIOUSLY WHACKY SCORELINES. Anyway besides my return to this level with my new team I would like to welcome reddog, FightingIrish67, Dave Cool, LoSpietato, benito, teufel77, jetto, franciso and CharlieRose3 and their teams to Thunder 1.1. I hope you do all enjoy yourselves in this league eventhough you have been dropped in at the deep end. Between now and our first game of the season I will do a short post on each division, hopefully to give you some light entertainment and information on your opponents. If you have not seen this before have a look back at this thread. Season 11 Thread In the meantime guys enjoy finding about your playing schedules and organising your teams for the forthcoming draft and season. |

Hello and welcome to the Season 18 pre-season show.
Before we start to look at the first of the divisions, the main headline is BOT ALERT. Four days to the start of the season and 1.1 already has three teams gone Bot, this means we already know three of the four teams that will be automatically relegated without the football being touched. Ok then besides that lets start as we always do with AC East. Pittsburgh Steelers managed by steeler8643 are entering their 6th season at this level. Their 1.1 record is 31-49. Thanet Thunder now a BOT team. Vienna Falcons managed by wiesengrund are entering their 11th season at this level. Their 1.1 record is 132-44. They were divisional champs of AC West for seasons 6,7,8,9,10,11,12 and 13, also divisional champs of NC East in season 16. They had 1 Thunder Bowl appearance in season 16. Wild Thangs manager by stizz are entering their 14th season at this level. Their 1.1 record is 126-82. They were divisional champs of NC East for seasons 8,11 and 14, also this divisions champs for seasons 16 and 17. They had 1 Thunder Bowl appearance in season 14. The return of Vienna Falcons from a successful, but unfortunately a relegation, season in the Elite League will mean that Wild Thangs will have a tough fight to retain their Divisional Title. Pittsburgh Steelers will have to significantly up their game if they want to challenge these two Elite League experienced teams, though I do not forsee them slipping badly enough to be caught up in the relegation battle.
