We have quite a large group of RB’s in this draft, and since I’m not planning on targeting a RB this draft, here is my breakdown for this year’s crop of running backs.
I use a fairly weighted system that applies the following rating points: 1. I calculate an Adjusted Speed for all players (Track Star adds 5% to speed) 2. A Base Rating Value (BRV) is determined = Strength + Agility + Adjusted Speed 3. Trait Bonuses (TB) are calculated = 7pts awarded for (1) Trait, 15pts for (2) & 25pts if there is a 3-Trait Unicorn. Note Track Star is not counted here, it is already accounted for with Adj Speed) 4. Values are added to Specific Skills (SS) required for each position. For a RB: · Position & Carry are crucial. Those values are calculated at 1.05% of current values. · Vision is calculated at 1.025% · Footwork & Catching at 1.0125% · Note: for (Skill Set/Player Position) recommendations search for “deciding skill importance” in the RZA forum. BRV + TB + SS = Each players total rating points |

General notes:
a) My current rating system no longer looks at Talent. I used to compute Talent, penalizing lower values. I no longer do this, because it would tend to over weight 5.0 talent, and then miss out on 3.0 talent that might have a really good skill set. b) My spreadsheet is set up so that I can easily adjust all my variables, and have played with the numbers for several seasons to determine my current TB & SS values. c) As some managers may prefer to have an added weight put towards speed, I’ll post more than (1) list to reflect different rankings based on such. |

A really big factor not mentioned is the age. If they are younger I would favor them more as long as they are in the same range.

I would say I have a few in the middle of your pack at the top of mine because of age as an example. There are a ton of good RB's though.

Obviously younger players will be able to play for the team longer, and have more tine to train their skills. What benefits or disadvantages do you see with age? |

Age only comes in if you want to sell him either immediately (20) or after a short time (19). If he has at least close to a season time left in YA, that is huge value for the buyer. Outside of that? Not really worth anything. Last edited on 2022-03-25 18:22:11 by ChoadW |

It is about the gap in skills and not assuming they are red capped in the draft I suppose.
If player A is 18 years old and can gain enough skill points to exceed player B who is 20 years old when player A gets to be 20 years old then it is worth it to me. You also get them longer and they are able to get to their peak sooner. |
