An Eagle Season
Game 1 Sharks 0-25 English Eagles Newly promoted Sharks and Head Coach tannurr visited Kestrel Road for their first Sea Devils 1 game. 130288 fans braved the Icy conditions in Barnsley, UK. Unfortunately they werent warmed by the excitement on he pitch in a lacklustre performance from the Eagles. Offensive action was in short supply and it was left to Gwyn Davies to kick 6 field goals before the Eagles finally found the End Zone through Mo Maier and a 20 yard Touchdown. Quarterback Hugo Thrasher managed just 19 Completions from 31 Attempts for 162 Yards without a score On the Ground Rickie Barry and Bapit Vanich both ran over 20 times for 73 and 68 yards respectfully. The Defence will be happy with their Shutout, whilst forcing 1 Interception, 1 Fumble, 1 Touchdown and 2 Sacks along the way. Work to do for the Eagles who host another of the recently promoted teams on Tuesday. Dahmer and his Poruba Jeremies will head to Kestrel Road. Game 2
Poruba Jeremies 3-60 English Eagles Newly promoted Poruba travelled over 1000 miles to Barnsley UK and the Kestrel Road home of the English Eagles on Tuesday. The Eagles were disappointing in the ice for their opening game but with warmer weather came a stronger performance. 34 Points scored in a blistering Second Quarter set the Eagles on their way to a 2-0 start. Quarterback Hugo Thrasher whose starting berth remains under threat from the young Edgaras Balandis threw for 5 Touchdowns, finding 3 different targets in WR Campanale (2), WR Merik Simsek (2) and TE Gottleb Borren. Thrasher finished with 32/49, 338 yrds and 5TDs A 2-0 start may seem great, until you consider the Eagles face a trip to the Three Towers Arena on Saturday for a game against the formidable High Towers. The Eagles players will be given a few days off for some sight seeing in Serbia before making the trip to Japan to face the recently Elite Ghost of Bautzen. Lets hope we catch one of them on a off day ! Now... maybe i should start looking at getti ng a playbook sorted  |

Game 3
English Eagles 13-34 Konjarnik High Towers The Eagles took the short drive over the Pennines to Manchester Airport for a Xmas Eve flight to Belgrade as they took on the High Towers. This was the 7th Meeting of the Divisional Rivals, with Ulero bettering Butch on all but 1 occasion. In the end it was a relatively comfortable victory fo the High Towers, who set the tone with a 80 yard Touchdown Pass in the 1st Quarter from which they never looked back. The Eagles fought hard matching the High Towers for Passing Yards, however where the High Towers Scored Touchdowns on their possessions, the Eagles managed just Field Goals or Turnovers. Hugo Thrasher threw for 370 yards 1 TD and 1 INT hooking up with WR Gunnar Prewitt, who had 11 catches and 99 yards for the Eagles 1 TD. Rami Amin threw for 379 yards and 3 TDs for Konjarnik It wasnt close, but it wasnt a blow out - The Eagles travel to Japan on Tuesday for a showdown with Bautzen - could this be the 'Match of the Year'? Only time will tell... |

Game 4
English Eagles 6 - 54 Ghost of Bautzen 
Ive never been to Japan, and i dont think any of the team are going to want to return anytime soon, as Bautzen ran riot over the Eagles. Maybe Bautzen are actually ghosts and my players couldnt see them? Hugo clearly couldnt see the defense. Hugo Thrasher chucked up 3 Interceptions in the 1st Quarter alone, one whilst stood on the Oppositions 1 yard line Thrasher would throw a further pick in the 2nd Quarter, whilst Kicker Gwyn Davies had the first half from hell, missing 3 field goals and a point after attempt. In all Thrasher completed 37 of 55 passes with 1 TD and 4 INT. He was sacked 5 times. The Eagles could contend with the Defensive Line and were subsequently trashed. Back to the drawing board.

Game 5
Constanta Sailors 7-25 English Eagles It hasnt really been stunning from the Eagles so far this season. Maybe a lack playbook possibly hindering the process. The Eagles were back home in the miserable UK rain in from of their lowest attendance of the season. The rain clearly keeping some fans away. The ELO Predicted an Eagles rout that never happened. The Sailors had more Total Yards than the Eagles, more 1st Downs, but failed to convert on 9 3rd down attempts which may have been the difference. Thrasher completed just 22 of his 35 Pass Attempts for 177 yards and 1 TD. It was a game that could have gone either way. The Eagles ground out the win to go 3-2 for the season |

Game 6
English Eagles 21-40 Devon Warriors It was a trip back to Serbia for a showdown with a veteren of the RZA devon70 and the Devon Warriors. It was a much better performance from the Eagles who, just for a moment looked like they might deliver a shock and take down the Warriors. At the half the Eagles led 14-6 only for the Warriors to dish out a 2nd period schooling, racking up 34 points to the Eagles 7. Was it better fitness? More luck in the 2nd? Who knows, but in the end the Warriors ran out comfortable 40-21 winners, leaving the Eagles 3-3 for the season, well behind Bautzen and Konjarnik at 4-1 and 5-0 respectfully. The Eagles have looked once again the the transfer Market to bolster a squad that 'just doesnt seem to quite get there' with some big bids going in for some exciting players. Game 8
Shawlands Clansmen 0-48 English Eagles Two Brits went head to head in this one as the Eagles faced off against Richardt's Clansmen. Richard hasnt logged in for over a week after joining up in September last year, so this could be another team heading for BOTDOM In what should have been a mismatch The Clanmen held the Eagles in the 1st Quarter to 0 points. The Eagles went 3 and out on their first 2 possesions and would punt also on their 3rd. As frustration set in amongst the Eagles Away fans the offence finally woke up driving 71 yards downfield and culminating in a Thrasher 2 yard Touchdown pass to Campanale. Thrasher went on to throw for 323 Yards 3 TDs and 1 INT whilst on the ground Bapit Vanich had 88 yards from 15 Rush Attempts with 2 TDs. It wasnt the expected complete Blow Out, but a comfortable victory to move the Eagles to 5-3. High Towers 8-0 Bautzen 7-1 Eagles 5-3 Jeremies 1-7 Playoffs once again look highly unlikely. |

Game 9
English Eagles 23-10 MN Axeman It was a trip to the good Old USA for the All English Eagles yesterday afternoon for a faceoff with otaknam and the Axemen. The OxBow Stadium located entirely in the Middle of Nowhere next to the Cloquet River housed 117000 rowdy Minnesotians (ive probably made that up). It was another slow start by the Eagles, we might need to think about the jet lag, as a 3 and out was followed by another missed field goal from Gywn Davies (maybe have to think about another kicker also). The Axemen moved the ball well, driving down field twice only to miss two field goals back to back. With a minute left in the First Quarter the Dodgy Leg of Davies managed to stick one between the posts for a 29 Yard Field Goal. The Eagles followed that with a quick turnover of downs and a Touchdown early in the 2nd Quarter, Thrasher finding Campanale with a 4 Yard TD Pass. A 52 Yard Field Goal for the Axemen kept it close at the half, Eagles ahead 10-3. The Second Half saw more missed field Goals by the Axemen, who, by rights should really have been leading by this point. Thrasher tossed up a 2nd Interception in the 3rd Quarter, but the Axemens missed FGs allowed a solatary Eagles FG to extend their lead 13-3 by the time the 4th quarter rolled around. Things then got a little sqeeky, the Axemen putting together a nice drive to move within 3 of the Eagles with an 11 yard TD Pass. A game i expected to win was now looking a little dicey. An immeidate reply from the Eagles settled the fans and coaches nerves Thrasher finding Campanale again for their 2nd hook up of the game. The Axemen couldnt respond and the Eagles added a field goal to edge the game out. |
