Sometimes the transfer market surprises me, so I was wondering what other managers found effective for selling there.
It seems that no one wants to buy good vets. I'm guessing the wages is too much of a turn-off. So young prospects seem to do better? I'd think good physical stats would be the biggest selling point, but not so much. Traits seem appealing? For example, I have a couple top players I've tried selling with no takers, but currently have one with mediocre physicals, but two traits, that's being bid up: (censored) For illustrative purposes only, not advertising, the player which shall not be named only has 35 int, 33 TW, 47 str and spe, nothing special, but going for 5M. It surprises me because I wouldn't spend that much on those physicals, but hey, one man's garbage is another's treasure, right? Is it pretty much a guessing game, but if anyone has any different opinion, I'd love to hear it! Edit: the forum police was here Last edited on 2023-02-17 00:10:20 by Olband |

Please stay away from linking to players that are transferlisted from outside the transfer market forum area. Not saying you wrote the post to make sneaky ads for your player, but it creates a case other could refer to. Sorry

I think that the player that sells better is the one you do not want to sell. It is kind of a paradox but we obviously tend to keep the better guys to play for our team. Take a look on these players and you will comprehend what is attractive for the majority of the managers in RZA.
For example: my best sell was a fresh promoted YA that I spent a lot of extra points to push his development. I did not want to sell him because of his skills and high potential but I needed the money at that time. I was expecting something like 3 or 4 millions on him but he was actually sold by 10 millions. |

A 50/50 superman (hehe) player at age 19 will go for 60m+ even though he can't play yet. He'll go for 20m at age 27 once he's trained up and ready to contribute in actual football ways. Teamwork and intelligence also bump up the price but the only constant over the years has been youth. |

The market is very inefficient. Don't try to make full sense of it.
What sells best in my opinion? Guys posted when multiple teams are thirsty to add guys. Some times high tw/int but mediocre physical guys are cheap and sometimes go for millions. If multiple teams decide that's what they want then it booms, but at other times it's peanuts. Sometimes somebody drinks too much and drops 19M for a bad kicker who chokes when it matters because that K has a fun name. Or sometimes somebody is bored the season before planning on going bot and bids on anything mildly interesting. If I wanted success in the market I'd track what's selling (type of player not specifically anything) and what teams are doing that bidding. Also consider post times (both in the day and season). |

I'm guessing the wages is too much of a turn-off Big wages usually means "old" players. If you're a young team, why pay a player big money, since you won't make the playoffs in neither the league nor the SC, and pay him for nothing for several weeks at the end of the season ? Then, when the team starts to become relevant, he'll already be gone to retirement (especially true for french players). If you're a top team, you already have such players on your roster, and would pay him to stay on the bench. |

Speaking for myself, but I prefer balanced players as opposed to max'ed out one- or two-stat players, because you're paying a premium for a player who really is not that good. Also, if they are 28+, anything under 4.5* EXP is a major drawback
