For some cups you need more than 8 spots, but 16 teams are too many. So why not a friendly cup with 12 teams?
2 groups, 5 group games, semi-final, final, 35 credits |

After solving that, finding the analytical solution of the 3 body problem and Fermi's Paradox shouldn't be a problem
