Welcome to Fire league Season 61!
With another season in the books and two well deserved teams moving up to Elite, we await to see who will replace the TigerCats (Champs) and Aberthaw Dolphins (Runner Up). We have a few new managers to welcome to the fold this season also. Welcome and good luck to you guys as well! Anyone who knows someone make sure you pitch Fire league to your friends. Let's fill this thing up like we used to have a few seasons ago before we started getting picked by recruiters from other leagues with dirty tactics! Time to turn up the heat! It's Fire baby! |

I want to try something a little different this season. Rather I am able to stick with it or not, who knows. But you guys can keep it going if not.
I want to start doing a weekly preview style "game of the week" conversation that builds as the season goes on. Highlighting playoff implications or even player award trophies, etc. I'm not great at the stats research and stuff yet, so anyone willing to buy in and help me out or feed into this theme would be greatly appreciated. Week 1, and it's still far too early to judge this, but week 1 the game that pops out to me is Panthers at Champ Chompers. These are two very good teams and great managers going head to head in week 1. The Panthers are expected to boast a very strong passing attack on offense while the Chompers have one of the best Rushing attacks in the league. Chompers has a very well balanced defense that should slow the Panthers down, but how much? The Panthers defense is exceptional on paper, and look to have the advantage over the Chompers. If I had to pick, I'd say this is a lower scoring game, but with these two, I cant' say single digits for either team. But I'll give the edge to the Panthers here with a 27-20 type score. I thought about moving back to the NC South for selfish reasons, but that would put me in a division with two playoff contenders and I don't want to water the playoffs down just to have a more entertaining regular season for myself.
Instead, I will try and interest someone into coming into my division to see if they want to compete for a division trophy. In the forums, I see a lot of managers complain about playing bots every season. Let's see if anyone wants to step up and take the Fire AC West challenge. Looking forward to kickoff! I am on a mission this season!  |

Yeah, that's a good idea. If we can pull a few more teams, even having 3 per division would be better. We're getting closer. I thought about moving also, but it would have left a huge gap and made it unbalanced, so I'll just stick to trying to Reap the Kirky 44's. Guess the Reapers have a new rival!
I feel bad for Wanis. He walked into a team that had the 19th overall pick. Now after the rollover, he's up to 21. Sucks for a first time manager. He says he didn't get to pick the team, just the division. So he took one for the team there to keep it as balanced as possible. So here's to you, Wanis. |

Just in case I hit traffic on my home from the office, I went ahead and logged in to pay my mediacenter payment. Locked into AC West now.
There won't be any competition for me in winning the division I am afraid, but I do have a relatively decent schedule this season against great non-division managers. Looking forward to it! |

HAHAHAH someone else is bidding on one of those guys. He's up to 20 million now. Jesus, wtf is up with this guy? Over 20m for one player? That's insane!

Draft time! Who did you get?
Round 1: I got Shlokh Sai for my first round pick. He was actually my #2 prospect on my board. I was drafting for depth and future need, and while his INT/TW are only above average, his 50 STR popped off the board to me to couple with his Pass Blocker and Stone Wall trait. I will definitely be changing his name though... Round 2: I got my top target in Benjamin Carder! This DL has really good STR, his speed won't be great, by expect it to finish up around 47. but good INT and TW give him some flexibility and no doubt he'll be a main stay on the DL for seasons to come!
