Ok, so it is early in my game with Caveman, but damn. Clinging to a 7-3 and with the ball (20 seconds remaining in the first quarter) then 3 fumbles in the next 3 minutes and I'm down 13-7.
0:20 2 and 11 to go on opp 48, Coy Groves (OC) snaps the ball to Dalton Lister (QB), hands off to Lonnie Gustafson (HB/C), this seems to be a run over the left tackle, Wesley Johnson (DE/R) breaks through, Vigen Kehrli (TE/L) blocks, Lonnie Gustafson (HB/C) fumbles, recovered by Wesley Johnson (DE/R) (Big I formation vs. 4-3-4) then back to back... 12:56 2 and 6 to go on own 34, Coy Groves (OC) snaps the ball to Dalton Lister (QB), hands off to Lonnie Gustafson (HB/C), this seems to be a run over the right guard, Lonnie Gustafson (HB/C) fumbles, but recovers the ball, forward progress: no gain (Big I formation vs. 3-4-4) 12:26 3 and 6 to go on own 34, Coy Groves (OC) snaps the ball to Dalton Lister (QB), who hands off to Michael Baxter (HB/R), this seems to be a run over the right end, Michael Baxter (HB/R) fumbles, the ball was recovered by Taye McLeod (OLB/L) (Pro set vs. 3-4-4) and again.. 5:15 1 and 10 to go on own 25, Coy Groves (OC) snaps the ball to Dalton Lister (QB), hands off to Michael Baxter (HB/R), he starts running over the center, Michael Baxter (HB/R) fumbles, the ball was recovered by Devan Bell (MLB) (Pro set vs. 3-4-4) Eeked it out 14-13! I have a question first, do we really only play 3 games for qualifying? Yes, that is the tournament mode. Groups with 4 teams play 3 qualify games. If you start a tournament with 4 Groups and 8 Teams each group, then all have 7 qualify games to play. |

Ok down to 4 games in the knockout rounds....
We have Buffalo vs Petef I would imagine Buffalo is favored in this one. I'll handicap it at a 10 point spread. We have Tombking vs Jack6 Going with Jack6 by a field goal or less in this one. He is 1-0 vs Tombking lifetime.... We have Darkwing vs Solana Steve Steve is 2-0 vs darkwing so far and has a better defense, so Steve by a TD? The final game is Sisko vs Sfniner08 I think with my running game and defense I could pull this upset off! We shall see. I feel fortunate to even be at this point against some of the giants of this game. |

Well I had the wrong team favored in the first matchup.
Magpies defeat Cardinals by a score of 10-7. Cardinals held a 7-0 lead until the 2:26 minute mark of the 3rd quarter when magpies kick a field goal to make it 7-3. Then the turning point of the game was 3 plays later when Cardinals on a 3rd and 8 on their own 28 yard line threw an interception that turned into a touchdown a few plays later. Next game... Wrong again! Tombking over Jack6 by a score of 14-7 Jack had a 7-0 lead going into halftime then Tombking scored a Td in each of the final quarters. The stat that pops out to me is on third down conversions Tombking was 11 of 21 and on 4th down 1 of 1. Jack was 3 of 12 on 3rd down. For me that is the most telling stat. Will write more when the next games conclude. |

Ahhh, but I was noncommittal on that one. lol. I said I "could" pull off the upset. If anything I said you were the favorite! lol. I hate to say I will win a game, it feels so self serving.
SD got back into the game with a long td, now 24-14 |
