Right from the start, it was apparent that the Cheltenham Bobbers were ready for battle. After the Stone Mountain Hawks won the coin toss and elected to receive, the Bobbers' defense made their presence known early, showcasing their formidable skills.
As the first quarter unfolded, Stone Mountain managed to maintain offensive momentum, yet struggled to secure substantial yardage. A pivotal moment came when Mathaathi Lubbers intercepted a pass from Luke Buck, resulting in a dramatic 34-yard interception return that set the tone for the Bobbers' dominance.
Before long, the Cheltenham Bobbers scored the game's first touchdown, with Adam Bledsoe successfully converting the PAT, bringing the score to 10-0. Enthusiasm among the Bobbers' fans reached a peak. The Hawks, however, responded with resilience but remained hindered by turnover issues, including a critical interception returned for a touchdown, contributing to the mounting challenges they faced.
