Ruhrpott Miners Prevail at Sân vận động Cà Mau

In this private Friendly Cup affair, held without visitors at Sân vận động Cà Mau and sponsored by Knight Guard Pads - Quality Football Protection, the esteemed Cà Mau con hổ welcomed the Ruhrpott Miners for a contest the experts had fancied to be most closely matched.
The opening exchanges were brisk and noble. Cà Mau con hổ crafted a splendid first march, with Li-Liang Chay guiding the ball through the air and Liáng Chiang, Wáng Lô, Yu Li, and Meng Yong moving the chains with courtly confidence. At the goal line, Liáng Chiang completed the advance with a short rushing touchdown, and Hé Li added the PAT.
The Ruhrpott Miners answered with patience and polish. Grégory Allain found Mathew Mcqueen and Karim Hanna to steady the drive, while Brian Bolt supplied hard running. Urban Schmidt then delivered a field goal. Later in the same quarter, Allain sent a grand long pass to Karim Hanna for a touchdown, followed by Schmidt’s PAT.
Cà Mau con hổ responded at the start of the second quarter, when Jun Vong connected with Meng Yong for a touchdown, with Hé Li again true on the PAT. Yet the Miners’ defence then began to behave like stern palace guards: Andreas Flint intercepted Jun Vong and returned the ball handsomely, setting up another Urban Schmidt field goal.
The home side then suffered a costly turnover on downs after Li-Liang Chay was stopped on a fourth-down keeper. Ruhrpott Miners seized the royal opportunity, leaning on Brian Bolt and Hans-Jörg Krüger before Bolt powered in for a rushing touchdown, with Schmidt adding the PAT. Near the close of the half, Hasan Shareef intercepted Jun Vong and returned it deep into Cà Mau territory, after which Schmidt struck another field goal.
After the interval, Pavel Nistor intercepted Li-Liang Chay and returned the ball with considerable dignity, allowing Schmidt to add yet another field goal. Cà Mau con hổ later attempted a long field goal through Hé Li, but the kick missed. The Miners then resumed their measured procession, Allain spreading the ball to Kurt Zimmermann, Karim Hanna, and Mathew Mcqueen before Zimmermann caught a touchdown pass and Schmidt supplied the PAT.
The fourth quarter still offered drama worthy of a velvet balcony. Dewei Lou intercepted Allain and returned the ball superbly, giving Cà Mau con hổ a spark. Soon after, Li-Liang Chay found Yu Li for a touchdown, and Hé Li converted the PAT. The Miners, however, answered with a grand and lengthy march, Allain repeatedly finding his receivers before Brian Bolt finished with another rushing touchdown, followed by Schmidt’s PAT.
Cà Mau con hổ showed commendable spirit to the end. Jun Vong and Li-Liang Chay kept the attack moving, with Yu Li, Shaiming Soon, Genjo Chiang, and Ken Fallon contributing catches, while Guo Bang finally crossed the goal line for a rushing touchdown. Hé Li added the PAT, but the Miners calmly closed the matter with composed passing from Allain.
There were also bruises upon the royal ledger: Weston Overstreet and Richie Jarrett of Ruhrpott Miners each suffered ankle trouble before returning, while Cà Mau con hổ saw Lok Huan leave and return, and Ye Yeo depart with a twisted knee before later rejoining the fray.
