Ruhrpott Miners Put the Bruisers in the Coal Dust

At Coal Mine, with Killarmy Scotch on the sponsor tag and no crowd in the seats, the Friendly Cup still had that back-alley pressure. Experts figured the Ruhrpott Miners would handle business at home, and yeah, they came out moving like the block belonged to them.
The BURNABY BRUISERS opened with the ball, but the Miners defense got nasty early. Andreas Flint brought heat with sacks, the front kept squeezing Barton Holliday, and Burnaby had to punt after trying to build rhythm with Jarod Healy, Bob Loftin, and Víctor Ortiz.
Ruhrpott answered with a long, patient drive. Grégory Allain mixed passes to Mathew Mcqueen and Orion Locklear with hard runs from Douglas Connolly and Brian Bolt. Connolly finished it with a short touchdown run, and Urban Schmidt nailed the kick like it was routine.
The Miners kept pressing in the second quarter. Allain found Karim Hanna for a touchdown, then Marius Tamas jumped a Barton Holliday pass and ran it deep back the other way. Ruhrpott cashed that sudden-change chance when Allain hit Kurt Zimmermann for another touchdown. Later, Damia Baro pulled in a close-range touchdown catch, while Schmidt stayed clean on the kicks.
Burnaby had some fight in the middle, no doubt. Jarod Healy and Njegoš Nix found lanes, Bob Loftin moved chains, and the Bruisers defense got a spark when Wilmer Mcpherson intercepted Allain and brought it back big. Nix then punched in a touchdown run, and Chega Fall handled the kick. After Douglas Connolly lost a fumble recovered by Stuart Thrash, Burnaby turned that energy into a Chega Fall field goal.
But the Miners did not blink. Brian Bolt powered in for a touchdown in the third, Philip Mathews bullied his way in during the fourth, and then Andreas Flint made the loudest defensive statement of the night: he intercepted Holliday and took it all the way back for a touchdown. Flint was not done either, later snatching another pass and flipping the field again.
Ruhrpott kept grinding late, with Allain spreading the ball around to Mcqueen, Hanna, Zimmermann, Baro, and Come Munyeshyaka, while Mathews, Connolly, and Bolt kept hammering the ground game. Bolt added another touchdown run before Burnaby’s late drive stalled on downs near the red zone. That was the door slam, Bronx-style: no mercy, no glitter, just boots on gravel.
