Black Dragons Ride the Smoke and Burn the Bobbers Late

At The Death Cave, with 136,629 visitors swaying in the Supercup Playoffs haze and the gameday sponsored by Loca Coca - canned diabetes, the experts had the away-side Cheltenham Bobbers likely to win. But, mon, the Black Dragons had a different riddim bubbling under the turf.
The Bobbers opened the scoring groove with Adam Bledsoe knocking through a field goal after Allen Ricketts returned a punt deep into Black Dragons territory. The Dragons answered with a patient march: Ernst-Otto Molchanov shook off early sacks, found Raul Nagle and Bruce Meadows to move the chains, and then hit Meadows near the goal line for a touchdown, with Shad Oswald adding the clean extra kick.
The second quarter turned into a Bobbers jam session. Waran Kau kept finding soft spots, with Allen Ricketts catching a touchdown pass and Herbert Reed later breaking free for another receiving touchdown. The Black Dragons tried to keep pace, but Oswald missed two long chances before finally making a field goal late in the half. Around all that, the trenches were fierce: Vladislav David, Nikoloz Kobiashvili, Romon Vaswani and Charley Moffett kept Molchanov feeling pressure like a bass speaker on full rumble.
After the break, Cheltenham Bobbers kept rolling with Bledsoe adding another field goal. Then came the big turnover, yah: Kaven Jaddoo read Molchanov, intercepted a screen meant for Shelton Yoon, and returned it into dangerous territory. Moments later Samuel Spicer finished the gift with a rushing touchdown, and the Bobbers looked like they were floating on easy smoke.
But the Black Dragons did not fold, no sah. From their own shadow after a Todd Sorenson punt, they worked out with tough runs by Avinesh Bolatoga and sharp catches by Raul Nagle and Shelton Yoon. Early in the final quarter, Yoon caught a touchdown from Molchanov, and the home crowd started thumping like drums in a cave.
The Dragons then went on a long, stubborn passing drive full of quick throws, fourth-down courage, and a little ganja-cloud patience. Molchanov found Raul Nagle at the goal line for another touchdown. Cheltenham Bobbers went three-and-out right after, and Avinesh Bolatoga’s punt return set up the late magic: Molchanov connected with Yoon again for the go-ahead touchdown. The Bobbers had one last possession and reached Black Dragons territory, but the clock ran away like a lizard in the sun.
No fumbles joined the party, but that Jaddoo interception was the turnover that nearly tilted the whole night. Injuries came and went too, with Pratha Shan, Avinesh Bolatoga, Kelvin Rivers, Samuel Chalmers, Eusebio Hayes, Damon Reynolds and Ryan Newman all appearing in the medical reggae at different times.
Final score: Black Dragons 31, Cheltenham Bobbers 27.
