It's about halfway through Season 35, so I thought it would be fun to give a recap of the season so far. The battle at the top of the league is tight, with the playoffs looking to be entertaining this season. Most of the rest of league is fighting for a good spot in the draft.
The AC East is looking to be a division that sends two teams to the playoffs, with three teams having a 5-3 record or better. It is once again topped by the Ajalvir Destroyers, who have done a fair amount of destroying this year, earning a 7-1 record thus far. BoneCrushers at 5-2 and Berlin Raccoons at 5-3 look to be competing for a wildcard come playoff time. The high powered offense of the Destroyers has caused major problems for its competition this season, averaging almost 50 points a game. They are a force to be reckoned with, and a lack of respect for that will hurt you big time. The AC North will only send one team to the playoffs, that being the Hainaut Gamecocks, with two bot teams and the mostly dormant Rabaul Jacanas being their division rivals. The Gamecocks boast one of the best defenses of the league, with the best pass defense and the eighth rush defense in the league. They look for that to carry them to a deep playoff run. The AC South is headed by the Lunatic Purple Cowboys, two years removed from their last Elite appearance. They will likely be the only representative from that division, with Dolphins Pisa holding the second spot at a losing 3-4 record. Berlin Devils and Schönspieler bottom out the division at 2-5 each. The terrific defense of the Purple Cowboys has led them to a 6-1 record, with a solid offense to back them up. They look to make another Elite appearance in short succession. The AC West looks to be a fight for potentially the #1 seed in the AC, with the TigerCats and San Diego Storm sitting at 7-0 and 6-1, respectively. The Green Bay Hackers (managed by me) are in a building phase, and won't be competitive for a while. The TigerCats and San Antonio Storm both have tremendous defenses, and have some of the best rush offenses in the league. This will be an interesting race for the top of the division and possibly conference. Moving to the NC, and starting with the NC East, headed by the Watford Hornets. A 5-2 record has them at the top of a division with two BOT teams at the bottom. Penn State will need an almost perfect second half of the season if they wish to make the playoffs. It happens, but not very often. The Hornets are not quite at the level needed to make a deep playoff run, but have the fifth best pass offense in the league and look to build around that and contend for a title in the future. The NC North is headed by Lyon Eagles, fresh off of a three season stint in Elite. They are followed by neroverde at 4-3, Bonaval Acorns at 4-4, and Fort Worth Horn Frogs at 3-4. This division will not likely send two teams to the playoffs, but look to be a competitive division in the future. Lyon Eagles making a strong statement back in Fire 1, looking very much so like it could be strong enough to send them back to Elite next season. The NC South has been a very competitive division this year. The Maykop Misfits hold a narrow lead at 6-2, followed closely by Sacko Del Toros at 5-2 and the Andorran Castellers at 4-3. This division will almost certainly send two teams to the playoffs this season. Misawa bottoms out the division at 3-4, not bad for first season in division 1. The Maykop Misfits' offense and the Sacko Del Toros' defense will make for an entertaining week 17 matchup that very well could decide who wins the division. And last but not least we have the NC West, headed by the Fargo Knights at 7-1. They have won the division the past two seasons, and look to retain that crown this year, as Arsago Seprio Boars (2-5) and GLADIATORI ROMA (2-6), will not be of any competition at this point in the season. A strong Fargo Knights offense looks to carry the team deep into the playoffs this season, and are a strong contender for the Bowl. Moving to Fire 2, where we've got three human teams building to prepare for next season in Fire 1. The longest-standing team in the lower division is the Amy Snowflakes, who have the best offense in the league and the biggest stadium in the lower division, thus making them the most promising team from there. The RiverCity Gamblers and Dubai Tigers both have stadiums under 30,000 capacity, so they have some work to do but there is a long way to go and certainly enough time to fully build a stadium. In spite of that, all three teams have been building nicely, and look to make strong showings once they reach the top division. We know that whichever team comes out of the AC will win the league, as the entire NC is BOT. Good luck to those teams for the rest of the season; we look forward to seeing all of you in division 1 next season. There's your Mid-Season Recap for Season 35. Good luck to all of you on the second half of the season. badgers Last edited on 2019-08-01 15:24:12 by badgers |

Nicely done! One question though...
Who is the San Diego Storm? I don't see any team listed with that name... |

I'm about to make an addition to include our friends in Fire 2. Can't forget about the up-and-coming teams in the region.

Thanks for the recap, I like reading stuff like that! But I have to insist on getting my Team called correctly, Berlin Racoons, and not Berlin Devils. The Devils are taking part in the AC South, while Berlin Racoons try to stay alive in AC East.
Not a rant, just a correction lg terrorsnurf |
