Week 6 is there and if you think this is mid-season you are wrong.
For most teams the conference games just started and those are the most important ones.
On the other hand do some team have after this week 6 games played, so half of their regular season games.
College Football is strange and that is on purpose. ;-)
Nice games this week and some classic ones.
I selected this 3 games as the BLOCK OF GRANITE TOP 3 GAMES FOR WEEK 6
Thu, Oct. 5
#17 Louisville @ #24 NC State
This could be the deciding battle for the ACC Atlantic division.
If NC State wins here, they have a good chance to challenge Clemson for the division. Louisville is then almost for sure out of competition.
If Louisville wins here, NC State HAS to win against Clemson and then we might get a 3 team tie for the top.
Louisville seems to be a one-man show with Lamar Jackson doing it all as QB, while NC State wins as a team, but never dominating.
It's hard to imagine that the Cardinals will be stopped here at North Carolina, but they are only favored by 3.5 points.
The reason is likely that Louisville so far did only win against easy teams, dominating, but not surprising and they lost against the only REAL test, Clemson.
I pick the Wolfpack here as the winner, but I would not be surprised, if Jackson and the Cardinals do come together and find lanes and spots to let Jackson shine again.
Wolfpack win.
Sat, Oct. 7
#23 West Virginia @ #8 TCU
Another test for TCU and if they win here, they will be in BIG12 championship conversation for sure, if they like it or not.
West Virginia did lose against Virginia Tech on day 1 in a close one and won since then only against easy teams.
TCU won all games, including road wins against Arkansas and Oklahoma State.
No wonder the Horned Frogs are favored by 13 points.
I like the Mountaineers approach, but I don't think the team will under that coach ever win the BIG12, there seems to be some stuff missing, every season.
The Frogs do look like they could win the BIG12 this season and will dominate at home.
Horned Frogs win.
Sat, Oct. 7
Michigan State @ #7 Michigan
It's time to play for the Paul Bunyan Trophy.
Last season did Michigan stop the series of MSU wins (3 in a row) and won on the road by 9.
This season it's at home and the Wolverines are highly favored, 10.5 points.
The Spartans did lose so far only against Notre Dame, but in a bad way and did survive against Iowa.
The Wolverines are perfect so far with the best win against Florida in week 1.
It's hard to imagine a MSU win here, at least for me.
Michigan is good again and MSU still looks like they are not in synch right now.
It's played in the big house, which is likely the most hostile environment you as Spartan player and fan can face.
Still, this is so big that both teams will go over their limits, with surprising outcomes, sometimes.
I pick Michigan as the winner, but everything is possible.
Wolverines win.
Other interesting games:
Sat, Oct. 7
#13 Miami @ Florida State
FSU did win their first game and now will face one of the hated in-state rivals, at home. Miami is only favored by 3. I smell an upset here, because FSU is not a joke and will overcome their problems.
Seminoles win.
Sat, Oct. 7
#1 Alabama @ Texas A&M
This could have been fun and might become fun, but I doubt it. Alabama seems to be BIG and Texas A&M did so far win, yes, but also lost their opener against UCLA. Vegas sees Alabama ahead by 26.5 points. That's huge!
Crimson Tide win.
Sat, Oct. 7
#11 Washington State @ Oregon
A speed bump for the Cougars or will they slip over those Ducks? Since Oregon lost their QB, I see the Cougars here as the favorite. They Ducks might come up with something unexpected, likely fast and faster then, but I doubt it.
Cougars win.
