IDK but there are sure a couple of teams trying. Exhaustive research has shown that the salary cap is dead and that some teams are spending like drunken Sailors. No offence Constanta. There are 7 teams spending more that $5M/week in player salaries. For comparison there are currently 13 teams spending between $3 and $5 Million. But let's take a look at those big spenders paying more than $5Million / update:

#7 London Silverbacks $5,171,107for players and $1,525,326 for coaches. The big monkey is not a surprise to this list and the AC South should be under its control in S63 as no other team in the division has a payroll over 600K.

#6 Manta Rays $5,202,602 for players and $579,475 for coaches. The Rays have been loading up on the Transfer Market and the wage bill shows it. Coaching does not seem to be where the Rays are putting their money and it could come back to haunt them.

#5 Glasgow Tigers $5,204,432 for players and $1,118,858 for coaches. Just back from Elite the Tigers are more than ready to fight. Not a surprise.

#4 Versailles Victors $6,152,183 for players an $2,274,602 for coaches. Wait up a second as this is a big surprise. That coaching salary is the highest in the league. The Victors are definitely making a run this year. Their appearance on this list should result in some on field success.

#3 Northern Storm $6,212,177 for players and $513,420 for coaches. This one also surprised me. That salary level says the Storm are ready to compete but like the Rays, is the relatively low coaching salaries going to hold them back?

#2 Konjarnik HighTowers $8,584,996 for players and $900,652 for coaches. KHT is bringing the heat! Maybe the Victors spending $2.5M less makes more sense now. The AC West race is obviously where the money is.

#1 St. Pauli Packers $11,555,309 for players and $1,465,182 for coaches. Not getting the results last season from a paltry $9.5M payroll, the Packers have doubled down and are spending more in salary now than the bottom 11 teams combined.

This list is banana pants crazy to me but maybe one of these squads can buy themselves a ticket out of Sea Devils and into Elite. That is the point, right?

A high wage bill is definitely not sufficient. Partly because you also need a good playbook. Partly because wages can get out of control when contracts come to an end, getting renewed when player skills have increased - and the roster has strength in depth.

Training strategy also comes into it. If teams train many players' skills and agility average, >40, that gets very expensive. This is a mistake I made and I ended up having to cut/sell approx 15 excellent players just to get the wage bill back under 5m.

I’m with Stuart.

And my answer to the question posted by Stabler would be „no“. You can buy good or great players and maybe steamroll your way through the regular season, but come playoff time you need more than a good team, and that’s when the playbook comes in.

Which in my thoughts around this game I had more or less put aside until I learned that, if everything goes right, you can make up for up to 20 % of difference in team strength with a strong one.

Constanta Sailors have shown quality over wage bill.

However a war chest helps if used correctly

A very small roster, too. Only 1 QB, for example. Saves money, but high risk.

The lowest spend in NC South is $4,937,000 so it is tough to even buy a Divisional championship. We are just trying to remain competitive.

No, the paystubs alone don't get the entire thing done. however it is extremely difficult to win championships without a large wage bill. You really need to use those players effectively in order for it to matter

'No' was always (I mean in any game played) correct answer.
It's good to have sufficient amount of money so you can afford some players, but it's not recipe for a success.
