Ouch! I used MOTS against Boonley but I still lost without a chance at winning. atqon built a really good team here, well played sir!

Major dent for my hopes for the rest of the season

Wow. I dont think I have ever seen MOTY used so early in the season. The game was close for a while. But I agree

...This speaks volumes for Boonley. He's out to avenge his playoff loss big time!

I've indeed never been this strategic with my MOTS. I identified the game that would yield me the biggest gain and it was away to Boonley. It just happened to be a fixture early in the season...

Office Sticky Post-It Notes After Week 4

#1This past week was much anticipated, even being dubbed "Super Tuesday" by one manager in the community. Yet only 2 games were decided by less than 10 points. Kokomo Mantis 27-23 victory over Inbhir Narann, and Wolflings 30:28 victory over Barossa Bulldogs. Still, there was plenty to take away.

#2 After week one, one manager boldly claimed the Boonley Bulldozers were a serious threat to win it all. After their impressive 32-17 home win against division rival Amersfoort Alligators, that statement is looking more true.

#3 I'm not calling the Spitting Llamas a championship-caliber team. But notsch had his Landru Athletics dominated their way to a 28-0 lead with 11:18 left... IN THE FIRST QUARTER!!! And yet only finished with 4 more total yards for the entire game.

[b#4] So in essence, Landru Athletics week one loss meant nothing. They are still legendary. And... football and stats don't always tell the full story.

#5 Hats off to the Barossa Bulldogs who played the Wolflings tough this past week. They fall to 1-3, but I still see them winning 8 to 10 games this season.

#6 Thunder Bolts, Wolflings, Rome Centurions, Boonley Bulldozers, Totoras Patriots, Willemstad Bridges. Only 6 undefeated teams remain. And I just listed them in the order I feel they could win it all.

#7 That brings me to this week's matchup between Wolflings @ Thunder Bolts. These two teams have split 6 league matches, while the last matchup,( a 45-31 playoff victory in the conference championship in s36) propelled the ThunderBolts to the Elite

#8 I think the Wolflings need this win more than the Thunder Bolts. The Wolflings has the easier division and will need a win like this to truly measure themselves.

#9 I also think the Barossa Bulldogs vs. Vicious Attack Dogs, Boonley Bulldozers vs. Inbhir Narann, Landru Athletics vs. Willemstad Bridges, and the Totoras Patriots vs. Istanbul Whitings will be worth watching.

I would like to place more sticky notes.. but my future wife just called... so thats all folks!

Your opinions are greatly valued!

Boonley Bulldozers 4-0 vs. Inbhir Narann 2-2
Landru Athletics 3-1 vs. Willemstad Bridges 4-0

The results were indeed interesting. My sticky notes for later tonight or tomorrow will be from a different angle from what I saw. ( I watch my game live from my laptop while having the live league match ticker on my cell.)

Maybe even a return from the Thunders Outsiders Mag by Cheeshead will appear to summarize it all

Office Sticky Post-It Notes After Week 5

#1 The Barossa Bulldogs lead the Vicious Attack Dogs 24-5 at halftime. They would score no more and fall 32-24, behind a 21point 3rd quarter from the Attack Dogs. The key stat in this game was the 17 sacks the Bulldogs gave up. Ouch!

#2 The Fredericksburg Comanches lead the East Coast Crushers 35-14 at some point in the second quarter. They squeezed by with a 38-34 win.

Their opponent had a whopping 74 pass attempts, 3 which lead to interceptions.

#3 The Montreal Dragons had a 20-3 lead heading into the 4th quarter. They were then run over by a freight train to the tune of 35 straight points by the Colonel Mustard Moustache Men who ended up winning this game by a 38-20 final score.

Their defense registered 6 picks and 3 interceptions.

#4 And finally, the Wolflings and the Thunder Bolts were tied at the half 17-17. The final was an 45-24 thumping by the Wolfings in this much-anticapated matchup.

The Woflings were efficient... going 4-7 on third downs and only punted once all game.

#5 True, it’s hard to win games giving up sacks left and right (as well as the middle), never establishing a running game, throwing picks to the opponent, or never forcing them to punt, but that’s not the takeaway here.

#6 What I’m getting at is the adjustment, or lack of adjustments teams made this past game week. And maybe (my one or two) readers of this column could weigh in.

#7 Does this occur more often when…. a) A team has a better-prepared playbook wise to handle deficits? b) One team has better roster depth for later in the game when backups are more involved? c) The coaching staff influences this come-backs d) A poor defensive strategy

#8 Whatever the reason, 4 games like this in one week is rare, I would suspect. Or maybe I never paid attention. I will for now on.

#9 Now I want to make a few sticky notes about Willemstad Bridges. It’s becoming clear this team wants to be known for more than a team that wins in a division where every team is “New” so to speak.
This past week 23-17 win over Landru Athletics was not the first eyepopping win I have seen them have.

#10 Last season they beat Inbhir Narann 42-21 and the Vicious Attack Dogs 33-27. Inbhir Narann made the playoffs, while the Attack Dogs weren’t officially eliminated until the final week of the season.

#11Don’t be surprised if they pull a playoff upset this season, due to a manager’s lack of respect for lower-rated teams.

#12 The Thunder Bolts once again find themselves in the spotlight this upcomming week as they face a second straight unbeaten in the 4-0 Rome Centurions. Last week I thought the Thunder Bolts (4-1) didn’t need that win to knock them down as favorites to represent the AC in the Bowl.

#13 This week I do. That poor second-half performance raised some attention, and loosing to two potential playoff teams in a row is never good.

#14 I also will be paying attention to the Amersfoort Alligators (4-1) @ Totoras Patriots (4-1), the Colonel Mustard Moustache Men (3-1) @ Istanbul Whitings (4-1), and the Vicious Attack Dogs (3-1) @ RC Frogs (3-1).

Your opinions are truly valued!

I don't think I'm at the same level of Thunderbolt, for me he is the favorite.
The Wolfings victory on Thunderbolt means that matches are all difficult.
I'm curious too about this matches Colonel Mustard Moustache Men (3-1) @ Istanbul Whitings (4-1), Vicious Attack Dogs (3-1) @ RC Frogs (3-1) and Duluth Eskimos(2-2) @ Boonley Bulldozers(5-0)

Nice write-up.

A crazy victory by my team saturday. I already accepted the loss when the turnover frenzy started.

So far my results have exceeded my own expectations for the season. I fired a lot of expensive veterans for young and promising players.
