Hi there,
saw your post "Monarch 2". I hope by Monarch 1 Forum you mean this one? Already read some of the rookie area and some pages of jack6's guide. Stadium is already at 99.900 seats and I should have the money to finish it after sundays finance update. |

From what I've read above, looks to me you know what you're doing. And why. Good luck with team development and please do feel at home in this thread already. After all, it's unlikely you will not be in Monarchs 1 next season Last edited on 2022-10-15 16:17:54 by jpnwrt |

Very quite here.
This night the Hummingbirds did finally fall BOT. That's a pity, but OK, the manager did decide to walk on. It looks like there is a quite realistic chance they will still make the playoffs, since the teams at 7th and 8th place will likely not win all games and the Hummingbirds-BOT team will likely not lose all remaining games and they have only 1 loss so far. The Hornets on the other conference will likely be catched and shifted out of the playoffs, but for the Birds I think they have a really good chance. |

Aye, it's a big shame. Hummingbirds were turning in to a force to be reckoned with but, like many before them, had difficulty adjusting to life back in Monarchs after visiting Elite for one season. That's never bothered me and I'll quite happily be a yo-yo team.
Of course, he may have left for other reasons but it does happen a lot. |

Well I have to say I dislike the Elite league. I feel it would be better to remain within just one league such as Monarchs etc.
The problem with Elite is that it is too volatile for new teams and, as you said, it is a yoyo existence for them whereas the established teams remain there for ever. It would not be so bad if only two teams were promoted/relegated each season but two from each division is just too much. If we are going to have the Elite we would, imo, be better off having a pyramid system. |

I can see the reasons why people are for and against Elite, which I'm personally for either in its present state or some future guise. The established teams can, and have, been ousted by younger teams though. Myself, Malones and Kraken all started playing the game within a couple of months of each other in 2019. Those two are now globally ranked at #1 and #4 and I'm still yo-yoing but striving to be better. I would imagine the picture's the same in other leagues as well where there's been a change in the old guard.

Let’s have a look at the current division and conference setup to get some hint for the playoffs.
Sadly the amount of BOTs are increasing, but I did skip the meaningless BOTs this time and only BOTs having maybe an impact on the playoff-picture are kept. AC AC East Torchwood Aliens 7-2 Toronto Thunder 5-4 The Aliens are on track to win the division, I don’t think that Thunder will win a game against them. The only meaningful game left is likely the Osler Rotties game in week 14. It might decide whether the Aliens will be #3 or #4. The Thunder are right now at #7 inside the conference and would be the natural substitution for the BOT-Hummingbirds. But 2 games against the Aliens and another game against the Leopards will likely increase their loss-total and they are already 3 games behind the Hummingbirds. My pick is, they will miss the playoffs. AC North Arizona Hummingbirds 8-1 (BOT) MK Saints 6-3 This division is a big booboo. The Hummingbirds did fall BOT prior last gameday, but won the BAT vs BOT game and are right now 2 games ahead of the Saints and 3 games ahead to any playoff contender. They have 4 games left (right now) against Human teams, 3 against BOTs. Those BOT games can be wins or losses. And the Human team games are not 100% sure all losses. In best case the team does lose ALL games, then they will drop out of the playoff race. If they win only 2 more games, they are likely set at #6 or even #5. MK Saints have a good chance to win the division, but for that they need to stay active. They are again not active since 10+ days, so they might fall BOT before season final and then we might end up with even 2 BOT teams inside the playoffs, one as division champ at #4. If they log in again, #4 is theirs for sure. AC South Leverkusen Leopards 9-0 My team will win the division, since there are only BOTs left. Chances are high, the team will finish as #1 inside the conference. AC West Black Dragons 9-0 Roll Badge 2.0 6-3 Dan1983m 4-5 Orono Ancient Snappers 2-7 Black Dragon are very likely to win the division and finish at least at #2. PD and schedule does favor Leopards for #1. The Roll Badge 2.0 game might give them problems, but even if that happens, the gap is too wide to stop the Dragons from finishing as division title winner. Roll Badge 2.0 lost already 3 games and won’t be able to leapfrog the Dragons, leaving a complete breakdown by the Dragons out of sight. That means the Badge will finish likely at #5, depended on the results of the Hummingbirds and the Saints. My bet is, the Badge will max lose 1 more time and will get #5. Dan1983m lost already 5 times and I did think, since Thunder might not make the playoffs, this team here might leapfrog with a win-series Thunder AND the Hummingbirds, but the remaining schedule does feature 5 games against better teams, that they will likely finish with more losses than Thunder and the Birds. No playoffs in sight. The Snappers do have even more losses and an almost as tough remaining schedule, hence I don’t see them leapfrogging Dan1983. They will finish last in this packed division. NC NC East Berinsfield Hornets 8-1 (BOT) Burnaby Bruisers 6-3 Southern Meerkats 4-5 The Hornets did actually as almost BOT and later as BOT win 8 game so far. Many of those wins were from BOT vs BOT games, but also against human teams, so some lucky punches. They have 6 remaining games against human led teams, so chances are high, the team will lose several more games. There is a small chance they will not lose enough games to get washed out, but this would be a very unusual case. KAFakofers are right now the best chance team to get that 6th or even 5th. It depends heavily on the Lions and Panthers remaining games, whether the Hornets will make the playoffs, or not. My pick is, they will not. The Bruisers had some problems and lost 3 times until now. Most hurting was the less against the already left alone Hornets. Now the remaining games are all likely to be won, which means they will win the division finishing likely at #2. The Meerkats will likely not catch the Hornets inside the division, thanks to a tough remaining schedule. 4 to 5 more losses are not unlikely, means no playoffs for them. NC North birney's weekenders SARMIS Crystal Brook Meerkats Hills I pick the weekenders winning the division here, but both teams are highly inconsistent. They might end up with the same win total, but PD should be in favor of the weekenders. Inside the conference this team is likely #4. SARMIS will need to win a lot of games, but the next few ones will be open, only the last 4 are against BOT. I don’t think they will make the playoffs. NC South Trois-Rivieres Oilers 8-1 Paxtang Black Panthers 7-2 Angelland Lions 6-3 The Oilers are likely to win this division, thanks to an easy remaining schedule. They then will finish at #1 inside the conference. At #2 I see the Panthers, but 2 tough games (Roll Badge and Black Dragons) will eventually send them from #5 to #6. The Lions have 5 crucial games out of 7, which makes me believe they will miss the playoffs. Only of they win some if not all those games, they make it. NC West Osler Rotties 6-3 KAFakofers 6-3 Poznan Knights 4-5 Aloha State Warriors 3-6 The Rotties will play the Aliens and the rest should be wins. This might not be enough to win the division. Because the KAFakofers do have 1 more BOT game than the Rotties and they do also have only 1 crucial game left. If both teams would lose, this comes down to PD and in this an extra BOT games is worth a lot points. My pick is, they will finish as division title winner with a few points more. Inside the conference they will likely get to #3. KAFakofers do have a very favorable season left and might end up as division title winner or if not, then at #5 or #6. The Knights will win some games against BOTs, but won’t make the playoffs. And the Warriors will do the same. Thanks to a tougher remaining schedule, featuring less BOTs than that of the Knights, it’s hard to see them passing by the Knights. My future picks are: AC Leverkusen Leopards Black Dragons Torchwood Aliens MK Saints Roll Badge 2.0 Arizona Hummingbirds (BOT) Toronto Thunder Dan1983m Orono Ancient Snappers NC Trois-Rivieres Oilers Burnaby Bruisers Osler Rotties birney's weekenders Paxtang Black Panthers KAFakofers Angelland Lions SARMIS Southern Meerkats Poznan Knights Aloha State Warriors Playoffs Wildcards Roll Badge 2.0 @ MK Saints Arizona Hummingbirds @ Torchwood Aliens Paxtang Black Panthers @ birney's weekenders KAFakofers @ Osler Rotties Divisional Playoffs Torchwood Aliens @ Black Dragons Roll Badge 2.0 @ Leverkusen Leopards Paxtang Black Panthers @ Trois-Rivieres Oilers Osler Rotties @ Burnaby Bruisers Conference Championship Games Black Dragons @ Leverkusen Leopards Burnaby Bruisers @ Trois-Rivieres Oilers Bowl Black Dragons vs Trois-Rivieres Oilers |
