Since the Season 11 draft is now history, I decided to look back and evaluate each draft as a whole and each individual pick throughout my ownership.
My best draft was my first, the Season 3 draft. I landed three long-term starters, all of whom will retire from the team. My worst draft was Season 5, from which I have only 1 player in my least valuable position. My best pick, without a doubt, is Jeffrey Eldridge from Season 3, who will be in my team's ring of honor. My worst pick, sadly also without a doubt, was Dexter Lansford from Season 5. I threw away a first round pick for a throwaway D-lineman. I cut him early in Season 6 and he hasn't played since. So, which draft is your best? Which one almost made you give up the game? Who is your Tom -G.O.A.T- (or Joe Montana, Johnny U, or Bart Starr, for us older guys)? Who's your Jemarcus Russell? Don't be shy; you're among friends. |

My best draft was season 4. my second draft. Got three really good players. One is retiring this season. My first draftee to retire.. Best player was my first ever pick. Titus Finny a rock at CB. Worst draft ever was last season 2 busts and one mediocre player. I must say, I noticed managers are drafting much better last few seasons. I used to shake my head at some of the picks. Now I shake my head at my selections.

lol, I know I am a little late, but my season 11 draft was awesome! I got Quin Tin and Shelby Smily as D-line players and they are already makiing a major impact on the team and are in the top 10 defensive players list for the season in all categories. My season 10 draft QB was awesome too, Keenan Frierson, 2nd most td passes in season 10 in Monarchs 2.1!

I'm a total newbie! I signed up after the 17 season, so my very first draft will be coming up this August for the 18 season. I take it there are three rounds, what tips if any should I be aware of? Do I pick 1st overall? Is there a free agency period as well or do you sign free agents whenever? How many drafts in general before your team gets competitive.

Looking at the team you took over from B33R - they did quite well and you will be picking late. If you go to Games- League and then sort by League you can infer the draft order which is the reverse of the standings. (It would be really useful if the draft order were published) However, as there are many bots in your league you should be able to get the players you want even at 25th. Without knowing your team I can't offer any tips but at this stage you probably want the best player available - unless you perceive a specific hole to fill. Players (inc Free agents) can be signed throughout the season via the Transfer Market. How many drafts in general before your team gets competitive? Well, how long is a piece of string? This is going to be even more difficult to answer than usual because as I understand it the 3.x leagues are going to disappear and all teams will be promoted. Therefore things will be pretty mixed depending upon who gets promoted to where. Anyway good luck. |

I dont understand. I played no games in the 17 season, how did I manage to take over a 10-6 team? How did they do in the playoffs & will my team be credited their stats & achievements? Does B33R really exist or is it away to avoid newbies from getting the first pick?

If you look at Games-League you can see all the results and that they lost the WC playoff game. Yes, they do (did) exist and you will see their record etc (which you can choose to hide). There is no conspiracy to stop newbies getting first pick |

Before I answer the question, welcome to the game! As for the question, you can attribute the allocation of teams to plain 'ol luck. B33R did exist at one time, and the name stayed after the owner left, but when you "bought" the team, almost everything concerning B33R, including the players, was overwritten. The only remainder is the name on league standings of past seasons. No conspiracies here, friend. You have some time to scout future draftees. It's free of charge. You can arrange your "wish list" on the "Draft Board" page. |

Welcome to the game.
Use your free supporter subscription, which will end very quickly I think, to download the whole draft list. Look for young players with good physicals so in general speed and/or strength value 45+ if available. I suggest to look for liners and linebackers first. Rgearding the team takeover: All teams are recycled, so if someone starts new, he gets the teams record at that point and moves on from that point. At that point of the season it can happen you get a team playing in the bowl, or you get the worse playing team of the season. In both cases you get a completely new set of players, but in the first case you play for the championship game the next gameday and will draft at poistion #31 or #32, in the other one, you have to wait until season rollover and will draft at #1. Sounds a bit unfair, but the basic idea is to fill the open gaps, and in th ebast of all worlds there are only a few spots left. Unfortunately there are at the moment many spots left. |
