I guess I should know this - - but what is the Wage freeze?

I looked in the manual, but couldn't find it.

It is in the mail "End of free position switching / frozen player wages report", but I can only recall seeing it for drafted players.

From the draft section of the manual:
Drafted player’s wages are not calculated on skills, until the contract period (shown in the player details) is over.

I think that's all it refers to.

Yes, its in the email for a drafted player. So does that mean his salary will jump afterwards? If I'm running the HR department, doesn't his initial contract just run the full first season and then it's up to me to negotiate successive contracts?

Thats how I do it, you can completely ignore the wage freeze if you run HR department
