Hi,
why do not copy a real NFL: up to 7 draft pick and change YA in practice squad with 15 players limit, but free move between active roster and practice squad?

this question was answered, and I somewhat agree with it. draft picks already have experience and their talents upgraded over those brought into the youth academy. I know some draft picks are sold and will go into the youth academy because of their ages. Those players are usually the less talented. It would be my suggestion to fix it so all draft picks would be ineligible for the youth academy but that is just my opinion to make all fair.

And with the number of picks 7 would be way to many as advanced teams have a hard time finding spots for 3 on their roster. also the grade of the players would have to subside as well so picks 4 through 7 would not be as talented or as good as the first 3 rounds, no keep it at 3 in my opinion.

Another point that is usually used when talking about a 7 round draft: the number of players to scout will increase substantially and turn it into an impossible task for non-supporters.

As the draft currently runs, the bottom half of the draft are fairly useless players for experienced teams, so why saddle them with more valueless members on the roster? (Unless free cuts for draftees are enabled.)
And scouting is free for draftees, but that would be a LOT of scouting to perform and sort through.
So from one manager who is perennially beating the drum of let's make the draft more exciting and more like the NFL, I think having just 3 rounds for this game is fine.

However, I do still think there should be more start-worthy players at the top of the draft. In other words, there should be a handful of players that rank 4-star, with skills and agility trained closer to full levels. Top five to ten first round draft picks should be ready starters on any team, not just for new managers. It would make the draft more relevant and give more benefit to those at the bottom of their league. Just my opinion.

I would agree to raise the quality for a few players. However, since managers started tanking for better draft picks, I really dislike to award them with even more quality player material.

Copy the real life makes no sense in a management simulation, if they differ the way RZA does with real life.

RZA: You train players or get them in the draft, but a player matures only over seasons in exp and skill level, most of the time only mid 20 or later.
But never is there an impact players with instant success and top of the game.
You can train in your YA a player to a quite high level, but not to top level.
Physicals are usually fully build in YA, with drafties often not, but often not on top of the game.
Later, with the mature roster, the players stay stable and keep playing until they quit. Normally no challenge on starters with time going on.
With the 30+ rule there is a small hint of that, but only in a limited way.

Real live: You get a bunch of players in a very different level of skills and exp. Some of them will make not only a difference, they will change the game, will raise the level of the team. Some will be busts and some will become good starters or just good backups. Physicals are usually fully build.
From day 1 onward a player can become expendable, usually the career end is not based on self decision, but on whether you get a contract or not and wether injuries did grind you down.

So if you want to change a thing in RZA to mirror the real word, the change need to be on more fronts than just that one.
