Hmmm...and a secret bid?
You can see only that for a player are bidding 8-10 teams, but you can not see the amount until the end of the deadline...

Would this really help you to get a player? I think especially for teams, which allways argue that they have no chance to buy a player, would it be better, to know if Team X,Y and Z could still bid or not.

Buffalo, a SINGLE secret bid on a single player: you evaluate the player and put your bid, nothing more.

Maybe limited number of bids is not that bad idea. Because some of the teams starts bidding by 2 milions just couple of hours after player had appeared on the market.
By the way current transfer system is good! It would be very hard to improve it.

What a thread, it started yesterday, but has 5 pages to read.

I think the problem is a bit more complex than the trading system itself:
- a) the case of monsters, who are way better than anybody and sold for millions.
- b) the case of the end of the bids.
- c) and the not so obvious alternatives.

a) As for the first, that is the cause of the money that gets into the club's vault through the ticket sales. There will be managers with more money and managers with less. You can change the trading system, but rich will always be able to pay more for a better player. That is a fact and not this topic in my opinion.

b) This is the relevant point in this topic. Under the end of the bids I assume that it can finish at a time when I am asleep or at school/work. For this case the silent bid would be the perfect solution, as I evaluate the player, send an offer, and if I have the highest bid congratulate myself. Because of the different timezones everyone would have the equal chance to sign that player.

An alternate version would be if you can not evaluate the player with the level 1 scout + refresh 10 times combo. What you see first that is your information or hire better scout.

c) At the moment everyone believes the way to success is buying better players (hopefully draftees). This could be improved with emphasizing the alternatives and the choices.

For example you could hire a transfer scout OR youth scout, (but not both at the same time). The first helps determine the skills of a player in the market the other would offer better youngsters.

Another option could be to cap how much player you can buy in a season or increasing the penalties of a newly bought player like slower gaining of team chemistry or a hit on other players' TC.

If you want to promote the youth academy, for example beside the extra training points you could offer "training boost" the a youngster and he will be a bit better than draftees at the age of 20. Even you could modify the system where the younger players get more training points than olders, but the olders perform better or more consintently in the matches.

These were only quick ideas but my point is that if you bought a player for a ton of money you suffer elsewhere (in TC, in the academy, etc). If you can't do everything the game would be more colorful and interesting, but really much harder to balance.
