Trouble:

Since I'm expecting 'run' most of the time, I set my playbook to:

Offense: Big I and I formation(any down/any distance)
Def pass: 3-4-4 / Def rush: 5-2 / expect rush

Last game I lost a Supercup game on the road 17:21. In 32 occasions my defense set up in a 3-4-4 formation against (Big) I, only twice it was set up in a 5-2. The opponent ran over me.

What did I do wrong?

What was the Quarter, Down, Distance and Clock set to?

Was there some other setting above it that might have kicked in first?

Looking at my last game and wondering if I had the same problem.

5-2 defense only has 7 men in the box. Go with a formation that has 8: (5-3, 4-4). That should be more effective in stopping the run.

Thanks for getting back to me, guys.

This kind of thing is happening to me for some time. There's a lot of discussion going on in some threads, so I wondered if I had missed sth. Possibly the defense's "learning curve" isn't as steep as I thought. Supposedly the defense adjusts to a certain offensive strategy the more often it is used.

Thx for the tip on using 2 different run-defending formations to chose from. That should work better. My other idea was to simply always play 4-4-3, or sth along those lines, as long as ground game is dominating..
