Well guys I guess I should make this official. I quit. Ive been tossing this around for a bit now and, yeah Im done. My SC playoff match was the "straw that broke the camels back". Too many coin flip games, and random BS "wtf" moments. I dont like spending valued time preparing lineups, making playbooks just to get my face stomped on by managers who rarely log in and use the same playbook week in and week out.

Mind you, I am not referring to the random things that happen in each game. But when you throw 6 second half ints, or get 3 fumble returns for TDs, or your opponent only uses 2-3 formations all game, or you perfectly counter what your opponent is going to do only to get the shit beat out of you anyway, yeah that to me isnt fun. That is the game engine forcing you to lose despite the hard work you put in, and lack of by your opponent. You dont see things like happen in real football, yet they happen around my team on a weekly basis.

Far too many managers use BS tactics (and know they are BS) that you cant stop or force everyone to play the exact same way, and focus on the exact same strengths. I feel like ones who play the game this way lack any respect for their opponent who might spend time (and money) playing the game. So I fired my good players and coaches. So I guess there is no going back now. Its been fun playing with most of you.

Sorry to see you go, however I disagree 100% with your points:

- you have proved this season that it is possible to put an unfancied team in the playoffs through good preparation and a strong playbook

- you can't expect to win every game just because you work extremely hard, sometimes your opponents are simply too powerful for you - that should be an impetus to improve yet further

- I don't feel you can blame managers for writing a playbook to get around flaws in the match engine, certain plays and defenses do not yet work as expected, and are either too weak or too strong, but that is being addressed with time.

When this game started, both lines were chosen from left to right, meaning the 1st choice OT always lined up against the opposing 2nd choice DT, along with 1st choice WR up against 2nd choice CB. I spotted that and 'rush left' became the most common play in my playbook, closely followed by 'pass left'.

However I flagged it up with Pete almost immediately, suggested a couple of easy fixes, and he closed the loophole.

I've been one of the most vehement on the boards in suggesting balancing fixes for the current passing issues, but they have yet to be fixed, therefore I will continue to aim for the flanks as it is stupid going for the middle while MLBs are too powerful. I'd always planned for my team to play a spread-style mainly passing game anyway, right from the very beginning - if you had been here in seasons 2-4 you would remember that being very much a break from what became the norm in the game (High Fives winning everything with a 100% rush playbook).

But I will continue to push for the necessary changes, as I will regarding long and medium passes, which are at present unusable.

I think your departure is a knee-jerk reaction to a couple of big defeats - these happen - they hurt - but they can happen both ways!

At least sell all the players if you have to leave. But better stay and be more patient. Your team is younger than current champions and when Buffalo, Jonny and other championship candidates will lose some leaders due to retirements you would be among main championship candidates. Have it in your mind please.

I cant say I disagree with all of what Strange is saying... I just think its pretty near sighted and myopic. None of us have a problem with losing a game and we all understand the random elements that go into an online sim that can change a game for either party...

Strange what your asking for is Time.

My man it took me all of 9 seasons to finally get my wish of seeing a more open TM. You want to talk about being handcuffed because others are using exploits in the PB... try playing this game w/o using the TM and see how fun that is. JP wants a system where he can air the hell out of the ball deep and utilize the middle of the field.. Time and patience. You have to trust your not a lone in these fights.

I'm not going to tell anyone how they should approach the game. I dont put in half the time or effort so I won't insult anyone that way.. What I can say is that out of all the issues I and others may complain about in the game and all the seemingly random updates Pete chooses to implement, the game has NEVER gone backwards. Thats the reason why I stay.

It'll be a shame to see you leave; you've been an excellent addition to the league and I hope you change your mind.

I agree with a lot of JonnyP's sentiments. We need to remember the game is in it's infancy so its not perfect and its improving all the time.

Re BS tactics. I assume one of the things you are talking about is playing to the flanks. As one of these teams I just want to give my $0.02. I play the game because I enjoy it, of course I want to win but the enjoyment factor is much more important to me and when I was throwing in all directions my QB was getting picked 2/3 times a game, including throwing 5 picks in the bowl game not long ago. That was just ridiculously frustrating... So I've switched to playing the flanks to keep the game enjoyable. And less frustrating.

You joined less than 12 months ago (June) and turned yourself into a division 1.1 playoff contender. It may have been you who said that they would build their side differently given the chance well here is that chance.

Max stadium low wages you'll soon be rolling in cash to buy whoever you like.

Man up and take it on the chin!

This is something like my 6th season yet went only 9-7 and scraped into my first playoffs. It takes time. How crap would this game be if a newbie of under a year could win all in front of him?

You're putting the time into the wrong things. You can only beat the team put out against you. I've been shi*e for so long but stepped back, looked at what was working, and improved myself. Winning matters. Do what it takes to win. Pete and this game will improve and stop the one play wonders. I do agree that atm there is some silly code that makes ridiculous events more likely - our 3 fumble fiasco, that punt return X3 for a comeback win, your RB fumbling everything. No one else has backed me in this so until it happens more, it won't change. But they will and it will. Give it time.

Now, we're into the last eight and have a real 50/50 chance in making the last 4. In the past two games between the Hippos and the Meteors, it's been settled by less than 7. Last time out, we lost on a 3rd and 1 on the opps 1 with 10 seconds remaining.

Stop being the stereotypical (and unfair) American and expecting to beat all in front of you just because you've spent time devising a playbook - others may have spent longer and certainly do have more experience. You'll get there, just have patience!

I've got 5 playbooks!!! Some much more detailed than others, some relying on the random elements significantly, a couple are much more structured...
