Fortunately, I couldn't see the match live, otherwise I should have destroyed my PC!
But it's a game, I'm very glad to know that I have to lose a bowl to contribute to discover a bug; ![]() ![]() PS. The last play in Knechtenhofer's carreer, he retired this evening, and he choose this way to stay in the hisory of RZA... ![]() ![]() |

From the changelog
2016-01-12 22:17:14 bugfix in engine, V4.04 ("Knechtenhofer Bug") If the ball carrier loses the ball inside his opps endzone and the fumble was receoverd by the D for no progress, it was becoming a safety, including the wrong score and wrong ball possession afterwards - League Bowl Galaxy 1.1 Season 19. Should have been a touchback. |

Should have been a touchback. That is incorrect ... due to the bolded part, what you've described above is a *touchdown* and likely a flag for a late hit. ![]() The rule above would apply only on a fumble caused at the 1 yard line, and the fumble travels into the endzone - or the defender in the process of recovering the ball, his momentum carried him into the endzone. Both of which, I've never seen happen in RZA football (a fumble return for -1 yards, or a forwards fumble by the ball carrier) It's one of the things that's bugged me a bit with the play by play feed. Every TD that wasn't a breakaway long pass from missed tackles, ends with a hit in the endzone. We see "1st and goal, 7 yards to go - player name runs / catches pass for 7 yards, TACKLED BY *defensive player*. Simply put, there should not be hits occurring *INSIDE* the endzone. ![]() Last edited on 2016-01-13 05:53:32 by Gambler75 |

The Refs should have reviewed the play.
![]() The only way it would result in a touchback is if the RB fumbled the ball before crossing the endzone line, and the ball rolled or bounced into the endzone where it was recovered by the defender. If the fumble occured after the RB entered the endzone, it should have been a touchdown. So Pete, since you are the Referee for the source code, only you could know if fumbled balls roll or bounce forward or if they are always recovered exactly where the runner fumbles it. This could become more important if WRs ever start fumbling the ball in RZA, and also possibly fumbling after getting hit in the endzone. Last edited on 2016-01-13 11:10:03 by bobcor |

Sorry Pete, I did not mean to insult you. Of course you know what a safety is and what a touchback is. It is just that you wrote in the bug description that the runner lost the ball in the endzone, and that was interpreted to mean he fumbled the ball when he was in the endzone.
Once again a big sorry. I should never doubt your knowledge about football (or good beer). ![]() |
