Tomorrow is the last game for quarterback Yong Mcwhorter. I wouldn’t say that he’s the best Elite League player ever…but he’s certainly in the conversation. He probably has the most hardware, 3 Elite League Titles, 3 SuperCups and 2 CofC Championships plus a host of other trophies.

He was the prototype QB for a now past era, the era of the unsackable QB. His regular season elite league statistics were 128 games, 27,000 yards, 65% completion percentage, 265 TDs, 23 Interceptions, only 23 sacks (14 in this final season) and a QB Rating of 95.93. He is also the all-time elite league leader in game MVP awards with 57.

But Mcwhorter wasn’t always destine for greatness with the Blitz. He started with the Waiheke Island Kiwis before being placed for sale. Despite several other bidders, San Diego managed to grab him for the bargain price of $40M (apparently bwadders76 went to bed, leaving me the opportunity to outbid him). After spending a bit of time on the bench, he began starting for the Blitz taking over for Johnie “Football” Grisham in Season #16. He continued for the next 8 seasons until tomorrow when he’ll place his final game.

Good bye Yong!

Congrats on an amazing career with an amazing Finish!
I tried to hand him a final loss, but he wouldn't let me.

ETA: IF we should ever start an elite league hall of fame, he would be a worthy first-ballot inductee...

Congrats to Mcwhorter on an amazing career

Luciano Moscati can brag about getting 3 of these sacks in our Elite game this season and at 34 he'll be my first player ever to remain on the team at 35 next season

If I could have Mcwhorter for another season (at 35 yo), I'd have a good chance of repeating some of these trophies. I think my other losses are replaceable. However, QB is kind of a big unknown next season.

Best of luck to all next season...

I remember this actually, before I joined RZA Bwadders and I would talk about it in the pub and I remember the rant about not getting him xD

Yeah, I don't remember the exact bid deadline, but it was like 2:00 or 3:00 (which is like early evening in Cali) and we had been bidding a bit back and forth earlier. But I put a winning bid in close to the deadline and nobody else was online bidding. $40M....was a bargain I think!

Bwadders ....just think of where he could have been.... :-)

Psh, he's only got a 4.5 player rating. I'm not impressed unless he's a 5.

really an amazing career, he'd definitly be a favorite as #1 QB in an All-Time-RZA-Team! but just imagine he'd have retired at age 30, before your multiple championships run
