I once read, that a 5 year franchise contract AFTER rollover do get an agreement at 175% of the estimated wage

I will have 1 maybe 2 franchise contracts to offer at the beginning of next season, it will be interesting to see if i can do something with less than 175%.....

I'm sorry I was not clear.
Also this second sentence is taken from jack6s RZA Guide chapter seven.
It is few lines below the first one I have reported.
So the information came from a veteran manager and not from a rookie like me. 😄
Of course I hope you can do better!

Well, almost all my players get an offer at the beginning of the season, just to
try to find out how it works.....so,this is what i have find out.... a 5 years franchise contract at the beginning of the season is around 175% of the estimation, two of my guys didn`t accept 170% of the estimation wage ...at the end of the season one guy has accepted the estimation wage for a 4 seasons franchise contract ..... also at the beginning of the season all my 29yrs+ have accepted 86% to 90% of the estimation wage and at the beginning of the season all the other player have accepted around 115% of the estimation wage....
Long story short i think the best way to do it is to close the season contracts at the end of the season for around 85%-88% of the estimation wage for 3 seasons contracts and forget about crazy offers at the beginning of the season....but this is only my opinion so you can do whatever you want....

Yesterday a young QB turned down my highest offer at 150% for a four year franchise deal.

At the end of the season one player accepted an offer of 100% for a four year franchise deal, so imo is a waste of money offering franchise deals at the beginning of the season(one other player of mine has accepted 175% for 5 years franchise yesterday...) .... so , in your case, i would offer 100% at the end of this season and you should be saving some money...

The one thing to keep in mind about offering at the end of the season is that the estimated base wage is going to be higher because their skills have been improved (presumably) over the course of the season.

At the end of the season I lost a 3,5 star RB with the highest offer of 125%. In my current case at least I am able to sell the QB. The RB was only lost. A shame as he was only 26 and really good.

I would like to share this example in order to see If I understood.
I have not activated the HR Department yet but I think I will need to do at the end of the season.

Suppose at the end of season 0
1) you have a player with the two higher skill at level 41 TAL 5*.
2) the player rise for 12 skill point a season on four skills so 3 point per skill
3) you plan to keep the player for 5 years

If you do not have a HR department
Season 1 (max two Skill 41) $105,080.00 per turnover
Season 2 (max two Skill 44) $177,120.00 per turnover
Season 3 (max two Skill 47) $298,540.00 per turnover
Season 4 (max two Skill 50) $503,200.00 per turnover
Season 5 (max two Skill 50) $503,200.00 per turnover
Total $1,587,140.00 per turnover

If you have the HR Department and offer him a 5 years contract at the end of the Season 0 for 100% of the estimate wage you will pay

Season 1 (max two Skill 41) $105,080.00 per turnover
Season 2 (max two Skill 44) $105,080.00 per turnover
Season 3 (max two Skill 47) $105,080.00 per turnover
Season 4 (max two Skill 50) $105,080.00 per turnover
Season 5 (max two Skill 50) $503,200.00* per turnover (* you have burnt 1 year of contract)
Total $923,520.00 per turnover (58.19% of the wage without HR Department)

If you have the HR Department and offer him a 5 years contract at the begin of the Season 1 for 175% of the estimate wage you will pay

Season 1 (max two Skill 41) $183,890.00 per turnover
Season 2 (max two Skill 44) $183,890.00 per turnover
Season 3 (max two Skill 47) $183,890.00 per turnover
Season 4 (max two Skill 50) $183,890.00 per turnover
Season 5 (max two Skill 50) $183,890.00 per turnover
Total $919,450.00 per turnover (57.93% of the wage without HR Department)

a little bit less but almost the same.
Am I wrong?

If instead we suppose at the end of season 0
1) you have a player with the two higher skill at level 38 TAL 5*.
2) the player rise for 12 skill point a season on four skills so 3 point per skill
3) you plan to keep the player for 5 years

my math says
without HR Department
Total $1,146,290.00 per turnover

5 years contract at the end of the Season 0 for 100% of the estimate wage
Total $752,600.00 per turnover

5 years contract at the begin of the Season 1 for 175% of the estimate wage
Total $545,562.50 per turnover

So for a real 5 years contract case despite you have to offer 175% of the estimate wage and the first two seasons you will pay more than his wage without HR Department in the end you will pay 27.5% less.

correct?

thanks pj

Here below the math fro the two higher skill at 38

If you have the HR Department and offer him a 5 years contract at the end of the Season 0 for 100% of the estimate wage you will pay

Season 1 (max two Skill 38) $62,350.00 per turnover
Season 2 (max two Skill 41) $62,350.00 per turnover
Season 3 (max two Skill 44) $62,350.00 per turnover
Season 4 (max two Skill 47) $62,350.00 per turnover
Season 5 (max two Skill 50) $503,200.00* per turnover (* you have burnt 1 year of contract)
Total $752,600.00 per turnover

If you have the HR Department and offer him a 5 years contract at the begin of the Season 1 for 175% of the estimate wage you will pay

Season 1 (max two Skill 38) $109,112.50 per turnover
Season 2 (max two Skill 41) $109,112.50 per turnover
Season 3 (max two Skill 44) $109,112.50 per turnover
Season 4 (max two Skill 47) $109,112.50 per turnover
Season 5 (max two Skill 50) $109,112.50 per turnover
Total $545,562.50 per turnover

regards pj

Nice job PJ, but instead of offering 5 years deal at the end of season 0 and paying full price in season 5 you can do this, offer him 1 year deal for 85-90% at the end of season 0 and a 5 year deal at the end of season 1 for 105%....you will save around 50K.....
P.S.HR department is a must if you want to save money....
