My team did not have a great showing. The Bluebombs late-season spending spree might be enough to keep me from going to the bowl.

YesI got him in a bidding war that I was not going to participate in. But hey, couldn't resist. I actually bought him as a LB. Either way he would be my best LB or SF. Seeing that a SF could prevent long TD's in the higher level leagues as I will face stiff competition, I placed having him there. There are others that could play SF on my team, but I feel I have a growing OLB tandem already, plus a solid MLB coming out my YA already. Do you think LB is the better choice? Is my thinking incorrect on this one?  |

Well the trait he's got is really only applicable to LB and DL as SF blitzing is broken in RZA. Line him up at LB with blitzing on 75% = freak show!
In my experience having two good SFs (not elite) and a SF coach will stop long TDs. This even worked in Elite for me. And btw, my two cents...if you get promoted you'll need a SF coach. I had big issues with long TD plays with a good team and it stopped, literally stopped as in never happening anymore, the moment after I got a SF coach. |

It will take some time to get my SF coach as I will need to downgrade several positions to get the necessary CP. Maybe a few seasons. I do like him at LB. I have another player I could move to SF who is older, so I will do that instead. By the way, I recorded 19 sacks in my last playoff game without him. |

Also perhaps have a look at some good Elite teams at their coaching staff. I know not everyone subscribes to my philosophy. All I can say that in my situation getting a SF coach stopped long TD passes dead in it's tracks
And I've looked up the game....yikes! haha Also interesting that goats first score was a long TD........................... |

I've no SF Coach and it's working quite well
For me it is more important to stop the Receiver/Ball Carrier near the LOS. Therefore the Ressources goes to CB/LB/DL. At some point you need to decide what you want to do... @SF Blitzing: Well, I certainly do not Blitz with my SF (see above) but at some point it could be worth testing (eg Red Zone?). I think it is not broken at all but very risky... |

Jack6 also mentioned in his manual some teams us an older, experienced player at this position, most likely a veteran CL, or LB who you convert, possibly making room for younger players at those positions. That was my plan going forward. Now I will think about it more over the next few seasons. It's not like I'm going to elite anytime soon. This is something I thought of doing. I blitzed in season 33 with my SF a lot knowing I had nothing to lose. I cut it out this season to just SF blitzing when I had a team facing 3rd down and 21+. It was cut out completly for the playoffs. But I will try dong this when an opponent is within 5-10 yards of scoring. I noticed on run plays the SF has been able to create fumbles when you blitz him on run plays. |
