Given the fact that I have the support of three of Elite's most active forum-posters, I'll do the power rankings for Elite this season. Looking forward to it .

Thanks Kanar, looking at the stats your team didn't play that bad. Just your monster QB had a really bad day. If your QB has bad dayform, it is really hard to compensate. The 4 sacks had been interesting, I had been expecting hardly any. But more costly had been the interceptions.

Dayform was maybe a factor, but the best team won.

Yes, the OrangeCrush have become the OrangeMush. :-(

I'll miss him, but I will nice to have some new division rivals.

Alright, you asked for it, so here it comes. Power Rankings, Week 1, after some interesting outcomes today (as I learn the teams in Elite, ELO may play a big part in these rankings):

1. Helsinki Gangsters, 1-0. Do I really need to explain this? Beating last season's champ by 30 is a clear indicator of who should be at #1.

2. San Diego Blitz, 1-0. Strong road win against a fellow Galaxy team; I am afraid for my first matchup against this team.

3. Wilmersdorf Wadenbeisser, 0-1. Surprise loss by the defending champs, but these guys will bounce back quickly. I am even more afraid for my 2 league matchups against this team.

4. Salt City Pirates, 1-0. Last season's runner-up starts the season out strong with a beatdown on The Alpin Ducks. Another strong season looks to be in store.

5. Chelt Nam Bobbers, 1-0. I've heard chatterings scattered throughout various forums that the Bobbers could be competing for a title this season. Not trying to start any rumours, but they certainly looked good today.

6. Comeback Kids, 1-0. Impressive road win today; those don't come easy in the crown of all leagues.

7. Black Dragons, 1-0. Starting off the season right, they will be a constant threat all season long.

8. AS Roma Wolves, 1-0. These guys are here because of high ELO and a road win today. Whether or not they stay there remains to be seen.

9. Baltimore Ravens, 1-0. Easy win against a weak-for-Elite team has them lower than ELO would rank them. The tough Seadevils division will test their strength.

10. BobBoy Magpies, 1-0. A 50+ point victory in Elite shows that your team is quite strong. ELO says the same, so here they land.

11. PR Chaser, 1-0. Longtime second fiddle to WW in Elite, they will hope to have a better record than last season's 8-8 effort.

12. Lyon Eagles, 1-0. This ranking is probably high, given the many recent one-season stunts the Eagles have had in Elite as of late, but I wouldn't mind them proving me wrong so I don't have to play them next season back in Fire 1 .

13. Hell Hounds, 1-0. This ranking may also be high, but I seem to remember them outperforming their ELO and team strength scores, so I'm comfortable placing them here.

14. The Alpin Ducks, 0-1. The reigning Seadevils division champs may have lost, but I expect them to bounce back and show their strength.

15. Bonnyrigg Bombsquad, 0-1. High ELO and a recent Elite history similar to Lyon's has them this high, despite the loss.

16. Social Distance Runners, 0-1. Finally able to nab a Seadevils 1 title, that status as a reigning division 1 champion has them in the top 16 after week 1.

17. Erudite Linstock, 1-0. I would not be at all surprised to see them climb the rankings. They seem like a bit of a sleeper team to me.

18. BU Terriers, 0-1. Tough loss against a good team today. It was at home, though, and if you can't protect home field, you don't get much recognition.

19. Green Mark Packers, 0-1. On the road against angus' Black Dragons is a game most teams, including this one, can automatically mark as a loss.

20. Istanbul Whitings, 1-0. A very respectable team right here, and also the producer of my QB of the future, so nothing but warm feelings and well wishes for mezgitm.

21. Basterds, 0-1. The winner of last season's worst division in Elite, hopefully a turnaround is in store for that division.

22. Juggernaut, 0-1. Held up okay against the strong Comeback Kids, but holding up okay isn't going to win you many games.

23. Bradford Bulls, 1-0. I've heard that these guys outperformed expectations last season, so ranking them quite a bit higher than their ELO ranking raises those expectations a bit.

24. Werewolves, 0-1. Close game today that they just weren't able to pull out. I bet they climb eventually.

25. Dumbarajko Elephants, 1-0. It's not very often you get a free game in Elite, but the Elephants got by easy today playing gone-bot OrangeCrush. Good thing they got that high PD to pad some of the losses they will inevitably face in Elite.

26. BSoD, 0-1. Unable to defend home field, they will hopefully scrape together a successful season.

27. Boonley Bulldozers, 0-1. Tough to lose at home, but that happens in the best league.

28. Green Bay Hackers, 0-1. I was one of the many teams unable to defend home field; I will look to change that soon. This season will definitely be a big learning curve.

29. Home Malones, 0-1. A team, like mine and the ones to follow, that seems to just not be quite ready for Elite. Hopefully they can scrape together a few wins this season.

30. Catalunya 1714, 0-1. Expected to be a bottom-dweller all season; this will be a season to learn and prepare for the next one.

31. Wasteland Wolves, 0-1. It will be a struggle for these guys, but you just have to find a way to make the best of it.

This power ranking is incomplete without OrangeCrush; we are all sad to see such a good team go bot. It makes way for a new challenger to enter the arena and earn a place in the league of leagues. This was a way harder ranking than doing it in Fire 1 because every team in the league is good and I am not familiar with very many of them. It will be a fun challenge to try to compete at this level and also to rank all of these good teams. Good luck to everyone this season!

Nice one, but I wouldn't overrate the Gangsters victory. WW has replaced their HC and was down on TC and Moral. Looking at their schedule they should compensate this in the next games. Interesting to see, if their low EXP HC will have an impact. I expect it to be minimal
