Well, that didn't take long to get the first surprise to my day-old projections. Congratulations, ashlee!

With that, here are my Week 8 Power Rankings:
Favorites
1. Växjö Gladiators AFC (8-0): Passed two of his tougher tests in resounding fashion by obliterating Wall Street and Verona paving the way to the top of the rankings. +2

2. DC Washingtonians (7-0): Big time scare against Skalica Eagles, but managed the important win to keep pushing to a 16-0 season and the AC 2 seed. even

3. Leeds Celtics (5-2): A tough stretch of games began with the surprising loss to Havertown and continued as the Rainbow Warriors even the season’s score 1-1. -2

4. Schrodingers Cats (7-0): A dominating performance against Marsz! graduates Dolfin’s team to a favorite. Combined with the suddenly more vulnerable Celtic squad, it is not crazy to imagine the Cats winning the AC. +3

5. Marife-Lacion (6-1): hourt is gaining some steam with impressive wins against the middle of the SD talent pool and will have chances to keep moving up. The previously mentioned slide of Leeds means the AC is more open and there’s room for a third favorite. -1

Contenders
6. Devon Warriors (7-0): Takes a big step forward toward division title with narrow win over Verona. The game against the Gladiators is likely the difference between the 1 seed and 3 seed in the AC. A strong argument could be made for inclusion in “Favorite” status, but comparing games against Verona shows a clear difference between Devon and the Gladiators...for now. -1

7. Skalica Eagles (5-3): Starting to look like the best team in a division filled with good teams, and that win against the Rainbow Warriors is looking even better today. +4

8. Rainbow Warriors (5-2): Ashlee’s team rebounded from the loss against Skalica in a big way by avenging his loss to Leeds. (Recall, I said the potential was there, so thanks ashlee for making me look smart for at least one moment). even

9. Naprzód Marsz! (5-2): Less than inspiring in losing to Schrodingers, but a loss by any margin still counts as only one loss. -3

10. Idrosburghi Verona (5-2): Gave Devon a very good match but fell apart against the Gladiators. Still looks to be a solid bet for the AC 5 seed. -1

11. Wall Street Gunners (7-1): The Gladiators are really good, but if the Gunners want to run with the big boys, there is some room for improvement. This was reinforced by the struggles against an impressive albeit inferior opponent in beating Glasgow. -1

Challengers
12. Constanta Sailors (4-3): As predicted, this team is better than the 0-3 start to the season, and the blowout of Havertown has this team back in the NC East race. even

13. Havertown Junipers (3-4): A big mover this week and now has to be taken seriously for this open NC East division. But after a solid run, marinarul brought Worpex’s momentum to an end in a lopsided loss. +5

14. Old England Redcoats (4-4): The losses were good games, but the Redcoats are starting to have too many of them if EA_MS wants to stay in the playoff race. -1

15. Croxley Crocs (3-4): A tough stretch for AlexB’s Crocs leaves this team under .500, but look for a quick bounce back next game followed by a string of interesting contests that could make or break this team’s playoff hopes. (side note: this is a team possibly going bot as last sign in was 6-14 and now in financial trouble). -1

16. Glasgow Thistles (4-3): Did well keeping it competitive with superior Schrodingers and WS Gunners teams. The schedule doesn’t get any easier for Scorchio, but there still are some opportunities to pick up some wins. -1

17. mystics (3-4): johnnyAce’s mystics put up respectable fights against two of the NC’s best. Sounds like this team is a perhaps a couple of seasons away from challenging for the top spot. -1

18. Hopfenperlen (4-3): Making a case as one of the better rookie teams with a win against the pre-bot Miners and fighting Bautzen down to the wire. +7

19. Bautzen Greywolves (4-3): Damion took advantage of a weak slate of opponents to move above .500 and tied in the loss column with two of the division rivals, but the schedule is about to get a lot harder. +3

20. SH Cougars (2-5): Playing against some decent teams in this league is going to require more than just signing on in order to get some wins. -1

21. Konjarnik HighTowers (2-5): Three of the past four games were against playoff-caliber teams, so no surprise that ulero struggled to do much against them. -1

22. BC Bombers (5-3): A bloated 5-3 record courtesy of some easy games. There’s enough easy games remaining on the schedule to keep this team in the playoff watch should some of the other squads stumble. -1

23. Munich Dragons (3-4): Added another bot win but nearly jumped BC Bombers in the rankings in their close head-to-head battle. even

24. Advancetown Kookaburras (2-6): Also benefited from playing a bot to add another to the win column. Advancetown has an uphill battle and an unfriendly schedule. even

25. Clemson Tigers (0-7): In a battle of two of the rookie franchises, the Tigers kept it close for the first half before falling to Hopfenperlen. Like Advancetown, the schedule is unforgiving. +1

26. Chicago Cubs (1-7): Beat a bot, gave the head coach a gatorade shower. +1

Yeah we had a couple of close losses. I think we can maybe go 10-6 looking at schedule. Team is starting to shape up now as offensive line and QBs are moving toward 4*

The AC is getting super interesting to follow. The Cats just posted an impressive win. Leeds and Marife are not unbeatable. Marsz and Ashlee are more than even in the hunt. If I do down at the end of the season, I hope it will be in AC!

It's surprising Marsz! isn't doing better with his $7 mil salary and team rating of 85%

I am pretty sure the oop penalty kills him every time. This penalty does not show in the rating.
