Game 3....
Hornets vs Leopards was a match of the day classic shown to the global Monarchs audience. The Hornets jumped to an early lead but the Leopards started a fight back in the 2nd quarter, but struggled against the Hornets defense. 38 - 24 win for the Hornets gives them a 3-0 record and a place in the playoffs. MVP Paris Short QB - Hornets Oilers vs Hawks ended up a close game as the Hawks made life very difficult for the Oilers. The score was all square at 10 - 10 for the first half and then the Oilers kicked it up a gear to shut down the Hawks. 27 - 17 win for the Oilers gives them 2-1 record and playoff spot. MVP Elsworth C;ayton QB - Oilers Aliens vs Hummingbirds was another loss for the Aliens as the Hummingbirds secured a 2nd win and a playoff spot. The Aliens did show some fight in the 2nd half, but too little, too late and the Hummingsbirds win 30 - 35. MVP Gordon Lafferty LB - Aliens Letaidans vs Knights was a game of dominace by the Letaidans as they cruised to 3 - 0 record and look the favourites to win cup. 28 - 10 at halftime made it a unassailable lead for the Knights. 44 - 27 was the final score. Playoff games
Hummingbirds vs Hornets was a tight game at half time with the Hummingbirds taking a 13 - 10 lead. A crazy 3rd quarter saw the Hornets get a touchdown, field goal and a safety to get 12 unanswered points. The hummingbirds got revenge with a safety of their own in the 4th quarter, but a 4 and goal on the Hornets 1 yard line ended in failure and left the Hornets to win 15 - 22. MVP Paris Short QB - Hornets Letaidans vs Oilers started well for the Letaidans as they took a 10 pint lead in the 1st quarter. Then the Oilers changed gear and crush them as they scored 38 points to just 3 for the Letaidans. The Oilers defense caused chaos as they got 8 sacks and gave the Letaidans QB's no respect.
