That's true. I felt like the first 3 quarters were more or less normal, and the 4th was a total QB disaster. I wonder if Pete would be able to shed some light on this matter.

If we're being honest, the participants in that game should look at their playbooks in either 4th Q or "behind" etc before we form an angry mob and go after Pete. |

I calmed down now, and thank you guys for the advice and encouragement.
I looked at the 4th quarter orders and there was medium and long passes in there, but only after being behind by 24 or more points, so the first 4 interceptions were from the normal pass option. I have now taken out all medium and long passes from playbook, which i am told don't work. So shouldn't we be asking why even have them there if they are so ineffective ? It was a great game to watch for 3 quarters and congrats to the Knights on the win. |

The way I look at it is as a hail Mary option. They don't work often, but there's some times you just have to chuck it deep and hope for the best because you'll lose unless you get a long td right now. |

I did not check your game, but keep in mind that with a long down, like 2nd and 11 or so, the option 'pass' will try to get the 1st down and as far as I understood the engine it will in those cases convert the regular pass into a pass medium or pass long. |

Interceptions tend to be
25 yards (presumed pass deep) 15 yards (presumed pass medium) 1 yard beyond what's needed for first down/TD (I'd guess most common by count) Screen passes. Looking at the play log, If I had to guess I'd say more than four were from pass deep/medium playbook lines. It might be worth it to put the various scenarios into the playbook checker tool to make sure everything got switched as desired. Obviously even with those that's still some bad random number luck with the frequency, but I'd believe something around 33% int rate on pass deep plays. There was a discussion on this in the past, and I believe lululba estimated 20% at that point, but his team is so good I'd expect higher from anybody else. I've had qbs throw it shorter than 25/15 in a pass deep/medium scenario, but I don't recall them throwing it 25/15 when a normal pass playbook line was selected. Wow, what a comeback by the Aliens in the 4th. I had a look in the 3rd and thought, surprisingly high difference, but OK, Hornets will win and then this....

Yes, I thought we were done for too but a 4th Q TD, then an Int and a 52yd ST return both leading to TDs changed the game for us. The Hornets got close to taking it back but with under 2 minutes left we managed to hold them to a 3 and out. They are a good team and we were fortunate to beat them.
