You have had a tough schedule for sure. First 4 opponents are 12-4 combined. I feel for you. Although looking at your schedule I expect you to win at least 9 if not 10 of the final 12. These first 4 games are your toughest stretch by a lot.

Didn't even look at the ratings. Based off schedules, performances in the game, and last years results to a degree.

I'm not so sure thats a certainty. U need to quite putting so much trust and weight on the ratings. They are mostly skewed..

Well looks like Deventer pulled out a really big road win. Even with a missed FG.

And congrats on your win SF!

Amazing win. My QB did it all this week, look at his stats:

Tackles: 1 tackled the guy who intercepted him, how bad ass is that!?
Pass TD: 3
Complete Passes: 45
Passing Yards: 376
Yards longest Pass: 19
Rush Yards: 64
Yards longest Rush: 17

Well, I'm afraid every single QB are very good against my defense
#31st Pass defense overall. It was the same last season.
I can't really figure out why my defense underperform that much

Good win though

Week 5 Review

There were several games that had close scores so I will spend a little bit of time on each instead of breaking down a few in more detail.

Gardians 21 Budapest Janitors 20

These 2 teams decided to play ping pong instead of football lol. Ugly first half with a puntathon from Gardians. They literally punted the entire first half while Budapest went 2 for 3 on field goals. That missed field goal costs the in the end.

After going into the half up 6-0 Budapest defense allowed 3 long drives to Gardians that were all touchdowns and ate up 10 minutes of the quarter. It is now Gardians 21 Budapest 6. In the fourth quarter it is Budapest turn scoring 2 touchdowns on some middle distance throws to pull within 1 point. That was with a little over 2 minutes left in the game. That was the end of the scoring with the final score 21-20.

Devils 27 Paladins 26

Pretty evenly played game that remained close throughout. Biggest lead was 8 points for Devils. Both teams had several long drives for scores. 1 interception each. Both around 50ish% on 3rd downs. Paladins score the last points with a touchdown with 37 seconds remaining in the game. It would have been interesting if we had the option to go for 2! Paladins ran out of time in the end to attempt the comeback. Stat that popped out to me was Paladins averaging 6.7 yards a carry while the passes averaged 4.8 yards. They ran it 21 times and passed 48. Hard to say but you have to wonder if there was more runs if it would have changed the game.

Panthers 29 Steelers 20

Steelers had the lead early and held on to it for the first 20 minutes of the game. After the Panthers took the lead they never relented it. Panthers averaged 6.1 yards a carry! 3rd down wasn't great for either team despite both teams combining for 5 drives that were double digit plays and ate up an average of 4 minutes each. Steelers were 3 of 13 on third down and Panthers were 4 of 16. So there were opportunities for the game to have turned out differently.

OTR 27 Blackmanes 20

Recently promoted Blackmanes tried to upset one of the unbeaten teams and just fell short. OTR had a 21-3 lead with a minute and a half to go until halftime. Right before the half the Blackmanes scored a td to pull to within 11. In the second half the Blackmanes outscored OTR 10-6 to get the score to 20-27 with 9 minutes to go in the game. After that it was a punting contest.

Interesting things about this game. 1. The first half had 6 total drives (I don't count the 1 minute drive before the half) with each drive averaging 12 plays and over 4 minutes. 2. The first drive by OTR was 17 plays 81 yards for 6 minutes 11 seconds. Later on they had another 17 play drive that ate up 5:24 of clock. 2 drives that eat up a whole quarter? Wow.

Despite all of the long drives the last 9 minutes was rather mundane with a bunch of short 2 minute drives that led to punts from both teams.

Lonestar 17 Rio 10

Rio lost another close game to another top team. Tough first 4 games but the schedule does get easier for the Atoms. This was an all or nothing game of drives. Either a team had a good drive or it was short with a punt. First half was all Lonestar as Rio had only one drive longer than 2 mintues that wasn't a punt and that drive ended in a field goal. Whereas Lonestar had 3 very long drives for 2 tds and a field goal. Second half was a little strange....

There were 3 long drives and the rest were all short ones for punts. One long drive was a touchdown by Rio that made the final score 10-17. Rio also got a drive down to the the Lonestar 8 yard line and went for it on 4th and 3 but didn't convert.

SF 30 Turigtians 26

This game had 8 lead changes! A true back and forth match. In the 4th quarter holding on to this 4 point lead I got the ball with 2 minutes left. Just run out the clock, right? Wrong, I threw an interception (of of 7!). Turigtians drove down to my 6 yard line and with 7 seconds left threw an incompletion to end the game.

These stats don't add up and make me feel a little dirty about the results lol. For one I threw 7 interceptions and still had more first downs 19 to 14 and more yards 433 to 276. I'll take it though. It also puts me above the relegation line for a week.

St. Pauli 41 Wolves 31

What was incredible about this game is that at half time Wolves had a 31 to 10 lead. After half time the Wolves longes drive was 6 plays 21 yards. I don't know how they went from having drives of 14 plays 80 yards 5:54 for a td, 11 plays 66 yards 4:22 for a td, and 13 plays 82 yards 4:58 for a td in the first half to only punting after less than 21 yards the rest of the way. St. Pauli flipped the script in the second half as it was them that had the long drives that got them 4 tds while wolves went silently into the night.

Moors 27 Pikes 20

Both teams were pretty evenly matched statistically. The Moors jumped out to an early lead and pretty much kept it all through the game. The Pikes tied the game a few times but was not able to take the lead at any point in the game. The one stat that jumps out as a possible reason for Pikes not winning was on 3rd down they were 0-8 while Moors were 12 of 21.

Thanks for putting the work into the game reviews. Look forward to reading the next ones.

I was lucky to escape with the win against Rio.
