I think this is the right place to ask this but not sure. So I see in general stats after games there is a Offensive Playbook Coverage and Defensive Playbook Coverage. Being new I have only messed a little bit with the playbook as I test things. Do these two things mean that you have a line in your playbook that covered X out X generations in the game?
So I noticed the standard defense usually always comes up with 100% coverage but the standard offense does not if I am reading that correctly. Is it best to make a playbook that will get close to 100% coverage on both the offense and defensive side? |

Another IOWAN!
My last game stats show my offense 80 of 80 / 1.00. That shows my PB was used 80 plays out of 80. If it had shown like 79 of 80 than the book woulda had a hole in it and was incomplete. ![]() |

![]() Thank you for that clarification. So I should be working on making my playbook more overall encompassing for any situation that may happen in a game. |

Is it considered bad to use the 1st, 2nd, etc. orders from the game plan screen for offense? I'm using it now and then have rules for specific situations. In an effort to keep things unpredictable without a ton of effort and can change it up quickly.
Seems you'd have to have 100 rules to mimic the "pass and rush" distribution with multiple formations. And good luck trying to change something. Figure eventually I'll have a "run heavy", "pass heavy", "balanced", etc. playbook. But playbook is really specific and hard to change. If anyone has any tips or guide / post recommendations, it would be appreciated. |

I have 4 playbooks. My big one is around 1000+ lines. By down and distance and position and time and qtr and score. Sometimes it's pass heavy. Sometimes it's run heavy. Often it's balanced. No way to really know which offensive scheme is gonna show up.
My other 3 books are varying degrees of depth and each formatted differently. One is Pass heavy. One run heavy. One fairly balanced. It took many many many seasons to build, improve, tweak and correct etc.. I also have 4 different defense books all a little different. Being unpredictable and hard to be scouted does win some games. |

There are many managers that use mega-playbooks and are successful. There are just as many that do not plan for every play, but probably spend more time scouting opponents. Serious answer. I greatly reduced my shotgun formations.
Also serious: I think punishing the use of shotgun formations does not reflect realism. Also: I still wonder why those that excessively only target the flanks are not unfair tactics penalized. |

You are a dangerous manager even with that young offense of yours. I have already looked at so many of your games last season, getting ready for our inevitable playoff meeting. Oh! Plus that game against the Falcons this season in SC too. So very light heartedly, I ask you, are you sure you want this tactic penalized? Maybe you should let it slide until after our post season matchup? I am just not sure how you get back to Elite this season without this gimmick brother. ![]() |
