Groups are set and here a quick review
Group 1 This should be called the 1776 group of death, with 2 USA teams and 2 English teams. The Hummingbirds from the hot and dusty state of Arizona will be looking to inflict a beat down after their miserable 0-3 from season 45. A good showing this time around will show the fans they are a powerhouse team. The Hornets as the hosts again, will be a formidable force of nature as they run, throw and cause chaos to the opponents. They have a reportedly increased their slush fund for the games officials. The Bullocks are hoping for a better performance from last season 1-2 and with the new name, maybe some luck. A new batch of flat caps have been ordered and a promise that if they win the competition, the local curry house will name a curry after them. The Hawks from Orlando will once again pray to the Mickey Mouse idol, with reports they will pay homage to Goofy and Donald this time too. A excellent run in season 45 saw them reach the final, but lost out to the Oilers. Group 2 The 2 new teams in this seasons competition landed here and will make for some interesting matches. The Lions of Angelland (Angyalföld) near Budapest are looking to cause some shocks with their first time here. The fans are calling for a national holiday and a renaming of the local Goulash (Gulyás), if they win. birneys weekenders are team from the USA and named after the owner Jonathan Birney. Not much is known about this team, but the rumour's are they are from Montana or related to the civil war Colonel William Birney. The Black Panthers of Paxtang, Pennsylvania are returning after their poor season 43 perfomance of 1-2. A powerhouse in the Monarchs universe, but struggling to keep it going this season. The Oilers from Trois-Rivieres from Quebec will be looking to repeat last seasons winning display and take the trophy home again. They will be the team to beat and they got lucky with an easier group to start with. First round games = Hornets vs Hummingbirds Bullocks vs Hawks Black Panthers vs Lions Weekenders vs Oilers good luck all |

Game Week 1
Hornets 24 - 9 Hummingbirds The battle of who could fly the highest and fastest. turned out that a Hornet can beat a Hummingbird. This was close game even though the scoreboard didn't reflect it. A stellar performance form the Hornets Fullback Haskins, showed just a bit too much class for the Hummingbirds. Bullocks 34 - 17 Hawks The Bullocks trampled the Hawks with a impressive first half display of power football as they led 28 - 7 at half time. They drop down a gear in the 2nd half, but the Hawks had no answer. The Bullocks defense held firm with awesome work by linebacker Bronson as he got 3 sacks Black Panthers 101 - 0 Lions The Black Panthers put the Lions to sleep in this game as they crushed them with 101 unanswered points. This a record score in the competition and shows the Black Panthers mean business. The 7 touchdowns for the Black Panthers QB Egger equaled the 7 interceptions by the Lions QB Madaras. Weekenders 30 - 35 Oilers The Oilers scraped past the weekeneders in which turned out to be a tough game for them. A solid first 3 quarters for the Oilers became a squeaky bum time in the 4th as the weekenders got to within 5 points. The weeekenders wider receiver Hanson got 2 TD's and 145 yards for am excellent performance. Next Games : Hummingbirds v Hawks Hornets v Bullocks Weekenders v Lions Black Panthers v Oilers Good luck Guys |

Game week 2
Hummingbirds 29 - 21 Hawks The Hummingbirds stunned the Hawks with an excellent display of balanced football. Their defense was a real menace for the Hawks and caused a major headache for the Hawks coaches. The Hummingbirds now have a crucial game against the Bullocks and a hope of making the playoffs. The Hawks look out after 2 losses and will need a win against the Hornets and hope the Bullocks go 3-0. Hornets 17 - 51 Bullocks The Bullocks won the battle of England with an impressive display of power football as they crushed the Hornets underfoot. A 2nd half dominace from the Bullocks defense left the Hornets scoreless. A game against the Hummingbirds will be slightly tougher as they look for another win to go 3-0. The Hornets must win against the Hawks to have a hope of progressing. Weekenders 34 - 27 Lions A close game saw the Weekenders get the win against the Lions and a chance of a visit to the playoffs. The Lions improved from the humiliating defeat in their last game. The Weekenders now have to play the Black Panthers in a must win game with the loser going home. The Lions now play the awesome Oilers and maybe some pride. Black Panthers 23 - 24 Oilers This game had it all in a very exciting game. The Black Panthers were unlucky to lose this to a last minute field goal by the Oilers. The Oilers were on the ropes for 3 quarters of this game and then scoed 17 points in the 4th to sneak the win. The Black Panthers now have to lick their wounds and beat the Weekenders to make it to the playoffs. The Oilers play the Lions and a chance for 3-0. Next game : Hummingbirds vs Bullocks Hornets vs Hawks Weekenders vs Black Panthers Lions vs Oilers Good luck guys |

Game 3 results
Humminbirds 37 - 21 Bullocks The Hummingbirds got the win they needed against the Bullocks to secure 2nd place in the group. They took control in the 2nd and 4th quarters with some excellent power football and gave the China shop Bullocks no way back. The Hummingbirds get the unbeaten Oilers next and the Bullocks get the Black Panthers. Hornets 30 - 17 Hawks The Hornets made what should have been a easy game, hard work as they miss out on the playoffs by points difference. The Hawks were consistant as they lost again to complete a 0-3 record. The Hornets were looking at the game against the Bullocks as where they went wrong. weekenders 9 - 41 Black Panthers The Black Panthers needed to win and got they result and move into the playoffs. The weekenders will look at their 1st time in the competition as a great experience and maybe they will attend in next seasons event. The Black Panthers get the Bullocks next. Lions 35 - 45 Oilers The Oilers complete a 3-0 record, but were made to work for it by the Lions. A 0-3 record for the Lions didn't reflect their improvement over the 3 games as they started to become better at player the power teams. The Oilers get the Hummingbirds next. Playoffs game : Black Panthers vs Bullocks Oilers vs Hummingbirds Good luck guys |

A close game against the Oilers, but a loss is a loss. We could only fight in the 4th quarter and unfortunately that was too late.
Congratulations ablefty. The two best teams are rightly in the final of the tournament.  |
