With only three games left and the first playoff spots being secured (Runners, Ghost and my Prairie Dogs), seemed like time for a playoff picture:
In the AC, still a lot of teams in play for the wild card spots and two divisions. My team is pretty much locked into the one seed. The Valkyries essentially won his division today and is likely looking at the three seed. Loonies are in the driver seat and I would be surprised if he doesn't win out to get the two seed, but if the HighTowers beat the Loonies in the rematch, the Valkyries could move up to the two spot and drop Loonies to the three. Beyond the top three spots, things get interesting. Devon currently is the four seed, and as long as he takes care of business against Schrodingers, he will win the division. Speaking of the Cats, while currently in the six seed, a challenging finish with games against Devon and Prairie Dogs probably means a 11-5 season and watching the playoffs from home. The HighTowers are the 5 seed, but has three hard games left against the Loonies, Glasgow Tigers and the English Eagles, who just used the MOTY to steal a win. HighTowers can absorb one more loss and still be the 5 seed, but two losses (especially if one is to the Tigers), and ulero could surprisingly be left out of the playoffs. As for the Tigers, if they can rally a win against the HighTowers and get a little help from the Loonies, he can nab a wildcard. Meanwhile, the Mavericks finish the season with three games against bots, will finish 12-4, and likely the six seed. In the NC, the Runners and Ghost have pretty much wrapped up the top two seeds, and Wasteland Wolves, even with two hard games left on the schedule, look like a safe bet for the three seed and Zeven Heavy Drinkers are looking good for the fifth. That leaves three teams going for the last two spots. The Corsairs have a huge PD lead over the Rebels, so if both teams finish 2-1 down the stretch, the Corsairs will get the division and the four seed. But the Rebels have a real chance of going 3-0 to close out, as the Corsairs have a tough one against the Runners still. That loss against the Cougars over the weekend might be what costs him a playoff spot. That being said, SH Cougars have a tough game of their own against the Valkyries before finishing with two bots. Beat the Valkyries and get a playoff spot; lose, well, better keep the score close. So with all of that laid out, here's my final projections for the playoffs: 1. Sunrise City Prairie Dogs 16-0 2. Raven Loonies 15-1 3. Valkyries 14-2 4. Devon Warriors 12-4 5. Konjarnik HighTowers 13-3 6. Mavericks 12-4 1. Ghost of Bautzen 15-1 2. Social Distance Runners 15-1 3. Wasteland Wolves 11-5 4. Vancouver Corsairs 10-6 5. Zeven Heavy Drinkers 13-3 6. SH Cougars 10-6 |

Big win by Schrodingers Cats changes the playoff landscape pretty dramatically in the AC. And the Chicago Cubs came up just short of doing the same to the NC.
AC Update: the big remaining game looks to be HighTowers vs Tigers, and I'm going to stick with the HighTowers. But a Tigers' win would pretty much eliminate the HighTowers 1. Schrodingers Cats 12-4 NC Update: in my earlier update, I didn't give the Corsairs enough PD credit and I think they will be in regardless, either as the 4 or 6 seed. After the Rebels barely escaped today, I'm sticking with SD Lions beating them on Tuesday, but if the Rebels win, move the Hajdu Rebels up to the four and drop the Corsairs down to the six and remove SH Cougars 1. We may qualify, but we have to win both games left. We'll see...
Don't see us really beating social distance runners. But, we will give our best! What I didn't really take into account is we can qualify as 6th?? That would be great also!! Have only just qualified for the first time ever to a playoff... My team just qualified for its first playoff! The Supercup. Oh yeah... great!!! Let's see who we play... Tough luck with that first round match, Brucehum. But on the plus side, all you need to do is beat the Cubs by 5 pts and you get the 6 seed.
A valiant effort by Scorchio comes up just short, and the AC playoff teams are set, with the probable seeding the same as I've been listing. The NC also looks pretty set. If the Runners win by 56+, he can get the one seed over the Ghosts. Rebels move into the four seed, and as stated above, a 5+ win over the Cubs will get the Corsairs in over the Cougars.
