We will/should close D2 completely. This means, new managers enter the game in D1. There is a major flaw in that: Dragons was not able to free enough spots, which means, for one season 2 managers need to stay in D2, while new managers would join in D1.
I found no smooth way around it, and just dislike to wait a 4th season with this step. Sorry to those few managers who have to wait in D2 for another season. Last edited on 2022-09-14 09:24:26 by pete |

There are 4 free spots, one from Elite and 3 from Dragons1. One of the 5 Dragons2 teams just joined yesterday

As written it makes not much sense right now. I need a certain amount off possible slots for new teams, and by closing D2 I would limit this number of spots too much, IMO

What about blocking some of the divisions so that gradually the number of division 2 leagues could be reduced if necessary? For example we now have 8 Div 2 leagues. We could cut that to, say, four. That still gives a spread of time zones.
We could also give the Div 2 leagues new names, for now let's say Leagues Abacus, Bionic, Cybermen and Darkness. Then we could promote into multiple Leagues at Div 1 whereas at present Admirals 2 must go to Admirals 1. In the new system we could allocate teams from Abacus to, for example, Admirals and Dragons (both with similar kick off times). The exact nature of how many teams are promoted and to which league could be worked out later (presumably we now have a whole season to do it). What I am just suggesting is a principle which would allow us to reduce the number of bot teams. |

The blocking is there for 2 seasons now. I was just not able to get rid of ONE Dragons manager. Blocking D2 in parts is not what I would like to do, sorry.
