I've been playing this game for about 2 years I guess, and I couldn't have gotten to where I am now, as far as understanding this game, if it wasn't for the forums. Jacks guide and the manual are invaluable, especially Jack's Guide. But I still had a lot of questions during and after reading both. That's where the Rookie Forum became crucial to my understanding. If you have a question, just post it. I asked so many darn question the first year I begin to feel uncomfortable. Yet not once was I reproached. Quite the opposite; many were eager to help. The only dumb question is the one that's never asked, and that's the approach I took. So if you can't find the info your looking for in the forums, Jack's guide or the manual, or are a little confused about something, just ask!
