Excerpt from Coaches section of the official Manual:
"
In the engine, a coach you hired makes your players do better, of course he affects only those positions he is in charge of.
(...)
The math:
factor=((AC CP + 45 + 1000) / 1100) + (rand(-50,50) / 10000)
This will result in something like +-5%, if the player is playing his position, on the skills the AC is affecting.
"

Question 1) Upon reading the above for the first time I overlooked it, that it's +-5%. Without thinking about it, I got under the impression that the effect of the AC coach is always to improve a player's performance.
Also, if I plug in the numbers, the maximum factor I get (assuming AC=100 and the highest possible random number = -50): factor = 1145/1100 + 0.005 = 1.05
And the lowest (AC=51, lowest random number = -50) : factor = 1096/1100 - 0.005 = 1.00.
Am I right, assuming that the meaning of the above is that the effect of the AC on the player is from none up to +5%?

Question 2) Is it safe to assume, that in case of no AC, the "AC" in the formula above is zero (or at least a number much smaller than 50)? Effectively meaning, that without hired AC the factor is lower than 1. (i.e., combining it with Question 1) - no need to worry that if I'm unlucky i might actually get worse performance WITH the AC, than WITHOUT).

I am afraid the answer to this might be on purpose not presented, in which case please just ignore this Question.

Question 3) Regarding " if the player is playing his position"
- - do I understand correctly, that even in such cases as HB and FB, FB playing as HB is NOT playing his position (and in that respect he's no better as HB, than, say, a Kicker)? So he doesn't qualify for the AC bonus while playing HB?
- - On the other hand - my understanding is that any player playing as KR (and other Special formation positions) is considered playing his position. And he does qualify for the AC bonus (as long as there is a Special Team AC hired, of course).

Is that correct?
(Just making sure, though I'm quite sure that yes, it is. In both of the above.)

Question 4) How does the engine treat players with the "free position change until XXX" status (with regard to the AC bonus factor above)?
To give an example, John Adams has 2 weeks of the free position change. He's currently designated as DL.
- - Does he qualify for the AC bonus factor only when played as DL?
- - Or does he qualify for the AC bonus in any position, as long as there is an AC hired for that position?
( I hope and actually I am pretty sure the answer is "yes" to the former, "no" to the latter , but just to be sure )

Re Q4 - the free position change means that there is no penalty if he is moved to another position. eg if he plays at DL in one game and HB the next, he could get the training bonus both weeks if you have a coach for both those positions and his designation is changed to HB for the 2nd match, if his designation is still DL he would not get the bonus in the 2nd match.
A player without that free position change who is a DL would get the bonus for playing at DL but the next week would not.

Please look into my coaches section in my guide.
Your lowest calculation is not correct, something < 1 MINUS something can‘t be 1.
I did put the numbers in my guide based on my understanding.

No, without an AC your are at roughly 95%, any AC with 51+ cp adds value. See my guide.

In your example, yes the HB and the K playing at FB won‘t get the bonus from the FB AC and are treated equally.
But of course a HB will play better at FB than the K since he should have better skills suited for the position, like CAR.
But also a HB playing on KR won‘t get a bonus from ST AC.
Only the position the player is assigned to, say HB, on the roster playing THAT position on depth chart.

Regarding that AC bonus, no extras. A DL playing QB does not get any bonus from anyone.

Oops.. wrong math (mine). Looks like I thought I knew the answer and was trying to make it happen by happy rounding

Not sure I understand. In order to get the bonus from ST AC, is it enough to have this player as KR in the depth chart?
Or would I ALSO need to change to KR his position type (in his player profile)?

The bonus of a ST AC do only get players on the roster as K, P. G and KR and who play as such.
