I played a game today (Link to Norsemen Game) where there were two missed field goals. Both misses were from my kicker. The first time, I was on the opponent's 22 and after the miss, the ball was then spotted at my opponents 29 yard line. Being the first time I have ever really paid attention to it, I thought the game must be spotting the ball from the place of the kick, not the previous spot of the ball.

Then I missed another one. This time though, I was on my opponent's 41 yard line. After the miss, the ball was again spotted at the 41 for my opponent. Completely different outcome for a scenario whose only difference was the spot of the ball.

So I looked it up in the manual and I read that:

If unsuccessful, the opposing team receives the ball at the spot where the field goal was attempted, which is 7 yards behind the original Line of Scrimmage. Play then proceeds to a Kickoff.

That meshes with my first missed FG experience, but I don't understand why the ball was not spotted at my opponent's 48 after my second miss instead of staying at the 41 yard line. Is this a bug or is there something I missed in the manual?

By the way, the last sentence in the quote from the manual for unsuccessful attempts should probably be deleted. Play does not proceed to a kickoff after an unsuccessful attempt. I think this is a typo and meant to describe play after a successful attempt. With that said, the description for a succssful attempt is accurate and does not need to be changed. Just the unsuccessful attempt.

Never mind. I see what happened. I missed the ball being advanced 7 yards prior to the second miss. My bad.
