Offensive Skill Positions are trash lol. Basically the only good ones are on the line and LB. Makes it easier I suppose. Glad I'm picking in the top 3.

What a terrible draft again, there were only 4 guys I liked so I decided to go with a QB at my #7 spot with good int/tw and a 5% bonus to strength in the hopes of him being an awesome offensive lineman, but alas he was red capped.

I found this draft to be one of the best I took part since a long time. Happy with my #9 ranked. 48 STR with cap but 43 speed without cap so he will cap in the 49 at worst. 50 INT, 20y.
On the down side very low TW and mediocre talent (29 and 2.5). He will play LB or DB and I will push him to the skills cap (42.5). |

picked at 14 and got a 50 Str 49.3 Spe DL who in the future will be a starter at DE (if only Int of 39.4 had been higher then I would have moved him to LB) - TW of 35.3 is good enough so am very happy with what I got

Since we're sharing, I'm content with my pick at #22. Needed a CB and got one with 48.4 speed +track star, str uncapped at 37, so we'll see how far he goes. Int 41 TW 38, so close enough, and 5 talent, so at some point it will be the issue of deciding how much salary I want to pay him.
I was trying to track who took whom when, and was surprised that even in Elite, several players that I thought were trash went early. That suggests that not many players do their homework with the draft. Which to me points to my ongoing contention that the draft is something of a sideshow in RZA; the players generally aren't skilled enough to turn heads. IMO, there should be a change here to make the draft more interesting. There should be several players that have WOW status, that could be starters on more than just teams with new managers. I know this ain't the NFL, but I wish it held just a little more of that flavor. I think it really says something when several experienced managers aren't even paying attention to the draft. Some of my best players were 2nd round picks with good int and/or tw along with traits that didn't have great spd/str originally, but were uncapped and ended up being close to 50/50 guys.
I tried to gamble this year by putting a meh 19 yr old qb 7th on my board and maybe he will have 50spd along with high int/tw, but I really hoped for high strength so I could convert him to the o line. I think I can still find a role for him somewhere if his speed is decent. Also, didn't realize the strength and vision traits were only for qbs as the speedster trait specifically says which positions it is/ isn't for. I kept mr. irrelevant from last season's draft as he ended up being a 45.6/50 str/spd 21 year old player rather than a kicker/punter. Last edited on 2023-03-08 19:54:37 by argos31 |
