Would be nice to be allowed to drop a drafted player without having to pay the remainder of the contract. Maybe if dropped within one week of the draft, there is no penalty to drop?

Sounds reasonable but I must make the question: Why do you want to change it? They already have a low wage (tipically under $ 10,000) so terminating their contract just after the draft is not that much. Any other reason for that?

I'd like this as well. Since we can't skip a round in the draft, this makes a lot of sense to me. My third round pick was horrible. This kid wasn't worth a wet wad of chewing gum stuck to the underside of a school desk, much less the hit I took in cutting him.

I agree, it's not much, but it's the principle of it. I woke and had to incur a ~$49K fee for a player I never wanted

Hey guys... have you tried to terminate the contract of your draftee? I think you may get really surprised if you give it a try...

If you cancel this contract you will have to pay additional $ 0 now. The contract ends immediately after confirming this message

I not only tried, I did cancel his contract. That is why I am posting that I am onboard with it being free, because my ledger tells me the move cost me more than $0.

Edit: Thinking on why it would be $0 for you and not me, I wonder if it was because I always check my mail and notifications first and clicked the link to change his nationality? Maybe by doing that, I "voided the warranty"? Did you change your players nationality before attempting to cancel the contract and getting the $0 message?

No, I usually keep their name and nationality (at least for a while). That's probably the reason but never seen it on manual. Should it be included @pete?

I've never changed the nationality of any of my draftees, and I've always had to pay to cut them.

When have you cut them? Just after the draft? A week later? I had that message (no fee to terminate contract) when trying to cut my second round draftee. It was just a couple of days after picking him.

Edit: I have tried to cut him right now and had a new massage with a cancelation fee of more than $60,000. I think we have only 24 - 48 hours to freely cut a draftee.

All the discussion is quite "useless" from a coders point of view, since you forgot to add important details:

Player-id
The amount of money in your bank at the time of canceling the contract
