Most of my players took a Morale hit of 18% after the loss today. That feels really high for a playoff match.
That feels doubly high for playoff, which is why this is in the bugs forum. If it doesn't count as playoffs or that 18% is right even for a playoff game, then ... that's fun. |

Your team lost against the prediction made by ELO, which was claiming you would win high. This is why your team faced this harsh morale hit.
I understand you dislike the numbers, but it is no bug. I will move this to Discussions. |

I completely expected a morale hit, but this doesn't feel like it was mitigated by being in the playoffs.
S45 200 point ELO gap loss is 9% comment I expected it to be in that 9% range, maybe a couple points more because the ELO gap is a little more and the margin of defeat a tad more. But double? Completely unexpected. Both playoff losses, both big ELO advantage, but one hit is double the size of the other. This 18% hit is what I expect from a regular season loss. If the answer is that Champ of Champs counts as regular season and not playoffs then sure, the hit is what the hit is. But, it just doesn't feel right compared to other losses I've had in the regular season and prior playoffs for 18% hit in this playoff match. |

Yes, I got already that you think the loss is too high.
The COC KO is indeed a playoff game, I doublechecked this in the code as well. And yes, the ELO gap was so high and the points difference so clear that your team faced the highest possible morale hit that is "available". However, since it was considered to be a bug I just wanted to make clear this was expected behavior. Let the discussion begin weather the hit is considered to be too high or not. |

There aren't a lot of disclosed morale hits that align to my game. That was one that I could remember which was close. In it, the Malones claimed they had a 9% morale hit from their loss, which was around 200 ELO difference and a 3 point loss. Sure, that's a tighter ELO and less point differential than my loss but I was trying to compare my 18% to other similar ones and searching "morale" in the forums is not very specific.
Other playoff morale hits that I know of digging through scout reports and forum posts: CoC 380 ELO gap, 2 point loss = 9% morale hit SC 190ish ELO gap, 7 point loss = 9% It's already not fun that my 50 SPD track star 49.9 skill 5* EXP QB was hurt for the playoffs, AGAIN. It's already not fun that my backup QB had an unwinnable game day roll. It's already not fun that my opponent can complete 76% with the pass only flanks exploit out of 4 formations (including 5 drops on the 6 incompletions, so the QB was nearly perfect game day roll). And it's extra not fun that all that pile of previous not fun gives my team an insurmountable morale hit heading into the elite playoff game. I do not care about the regular season, it's a total cruise control snoozefest for my squad. The Elite Bowl is about the only reason I have a team, and somewhat the SC playoffs. It's an entirely souring and dissatisfying game experience to be completed bored for 50 some days and then have a pile of not fun entirely luck based events put me at a massive disadvantage for the one thing that I play this game for. It was fun while it lasted. |

The biggest mistake here is to talk about the percentages. You should talk about days it needs to recover with all morale recovering measures in place. Comes down to around 2-3 days. I guess this is kind of right compared to real life. But yes, feel upset.

The proper thing to discuss would be maybe some realistic realism..
yes the luck factor seems to be waaaay over rated factor. But anyway. I remember around 24% morale drops on a couple of my big losses vs weak ass teams. |
