Hello!

Today my squad lost a game. This game.

I just don't understand why.

The opponents squad has subpar team chemistry, he even tried to sell his second best receiver until yesterday, so the player shouldn't play all that good, right? Somehow managed to gather 20 MVP-Points nonetheless.

His O-Line is not very good, the drop-off from first do second string is quite deep.

But yes, the players that count (QB, DL, LB) are very good, and it obviously showed: He passed on nearly every down, with only 9 Rushing Attempts in the whole game (3 of them were QB-Sneaks on 4th&1). The QB passed for over 10 yards time and time again (558 Yards overall), with my Defense having no chance to stop that. His Defense on the other hand held my offense to 13 first downs (he had 40) while his LB and CB picked my QB 3 times.

Granted, my LB picked him once, too. But one of the first things I was told when we started this game was "You're a Rookie, do not pass all the time or you'll get picked and lose". Does not seem to apply to every rookie, though.

Now then, I'd like to just check it as "dumb luck" and "some games you just lose", but I somehow saw that coming. Why? Because he beat the Green Mark Packers and the Nottingham Outlaws the same way, even the game against the ChosenOnes was a decided by one score.

What did I do wrong here? I'd really like to understand...

I see his physical conditioning is in the low 90s. Isn't that around the amount it drops when someone plays Match of the Year intensity? Maybe that's part of what happened. Not sure, just guessing.

You're right. I forgot that the intensity is list in the postgame stats.

I've lost a similar game a couple weeks ago. In my case, massive turnovers from a few of my underskilled offensive players and a couple weaknesses in my secondary may have been the causes.

That QB, WRs and TEs are really good. Indeed the OLs look like YA players, but perhaps they hold their own long enough. And the defence isn't bad either.
You can't say that he had an amazing completion percentage with only 67%, but what is interesting is that, even if he had 93 passing plays and only 9 rushing plays, he did got a thumbs up from the OC. So no loopside tactics detected
His 3rd down 9/16, 4th down 0/3. Your 3rd down looks awfull with 3/10 and the time of possesion 65% vs 35%. Your offense had one of the worst games of the season and had a hard time keeping the ball.
Also, until the 4th quarter thing were pretty even until that safety. And that safety happened with 2 consecutive TFL (this is just bad luck), after his failed 4th down conversion.

Yes, you are right with everything. And like im mentioned in my initial post: I'd like to check it as "sometimes you lose, sometimes the others win"-kind of outcome.

What makes me wonder, though, is the fact, that he did exactly that to the Packers and the Outlaws, too. Three times can't be coincidence anymore, no? So there must be something to learn here...

He defeated the Packers, but against the Outlaws he lost.
Perhaps you where checking other opponent, maybe the Stormtroopers. Don't mind me saying that although he has low TC and PC, he does have some very good players that are game changers (except OLs). But as we have seen before, in Supercup games there can be plenty of surprises, much more than in League games.

Oops, sorry, got that confused. It's the Niceville Norsemen he won against...

Yeah, I guess so. It's just so confusing, especially his OLine being so weak. I always thought that it's essential to have good lines to be able to play successful... and then there's this team with a 2*-OLine being able to stop the Pass Rush of a 4*-DLine the whole game. I guess there's a lot of money that I could save...

For everybody who doesn't know or forgot, please read again this paragraph from the Manual.

Players have skills, these skills determine how good or bad a player is. We have skills like Kicking where the range is from 1 to 50, and we have skills like Physical Condition measured in percent from 1 to 100. A skill of kicking 1 doesn’t mean the skill is at the lowest possible level - and the player could not kick at all. Rather it means the player is at 75% of his kicking ability. And the player could gain the missing 25% of his kicking by raising the skill to 50.

I didn’t bother to scout him because his stats were so low and I recycled a playbook. My guess is that this is a returning manager. Could be a completely new guy that just got it all down quickly though. Who knows? I will remember the name though.
