Is a player with 5 star potential but no traits or a player with not as high potential but with good traits better?

Traits have an effect throughout a player's career (if relevant to the position they play). Lower star ratings cap a player's maximum potential but the player may not reach the limits for several seasons - and those limits are still high. So, traits more useful when starting to build a team, with high stars being a long-term bonus.

I would say to first find the non-physical skills (speed and strength) and see where it goes from there.
From my point of view, if that 5* talent will have low speed/strength, the best thing to do is to get rid of him. If you find a player with 50 speed or 50 strength, you should use that player on what position he fits best. Why? Because 50 is 50 and represents the maximum a player could have in the game (except if he has Track Star as trait which would make him even better at speed) and if he has a trait, well, lucky you, that is just a bonus on his head and with 5* talent he can be your future hall of famer. |
