In the first half it felt like a shootout. Our defenses were both overwhelmed and not able to do anything. The second half was extremely one sided. I don’t really understand it. Could it be that my wider depth chart made for part of the difference ? We might meet again soon. I don't really know. Perhaps playing the whole roster has it's perks in regards to PC and fresh players keep coming in, but i believe it's more about the game engine, rather than that. You had games where you played the same in this Cup and lost. I hope you are right about that and we will find out in the following weeks. |

What do you mean? I meant that the state of the team should not have led to a victory yesterday since it was pretty depleted still despite pushing the PC in training. And all those big plays defensively came out of nowhere, given the fact that the SEA LIONS usually don't do this kind of stuff. pete wrote:
yep, nothing to worry about. You should won by a bigger margin, if you are looking for something to be concerned with I don't know, scoring 50+ points with only being able to get 16 First Downs and having only 21 minutes time of possession is an over-achievement in my understanding. I guess it's just some kind of Power-Mode-Miracle... |

Do you feel it? It is hot, isn’t it? The first postseason games happened this week in the Supercup with some stunners. The final seeding for the league playoffs was determined just yesterday. And it’s not only virtual playoff football that’s happening, as IRL the first two postseason games of Super Wildcard Weekend were being played in the NFL yesterday and 4 more exciting match-ups are still to come. It’s an awesome time of the year with great Football everywhere you look.
In this Friendly Cup we’ve reached the Semifinals, so two games will be played today. Four teams endured some hard fought games and bested everyone up to this point. Two of them will advance to next weeks final game of this tournament and will fight for one of the first titles of this still young year. This is Game Day 9 of the 2024 New Year’s Hullabalooza: 1800 GMT Niceville Norsemen (7–1) @ Bretzfeld Bandits (6–2) Both teams endet their tenure in the Elite league with a win yesterday. While the Bandits were already certain to be relegated back to the Galaxy region, the Norsemen would have had the chance to stay for another season. But their division opponent managed to win against the reigning Elite league Superbowl Champion, so they will return to the Fire league in S55. In this Friendly Cup both teams already met on Game Day 4. That game was tied at the half, but then the QB of the Bandits threw the Ball to the opponent three times and his team was not able to recover from these blunders. Both teams won their game last Sunday by 4 points, and since it’s considered such an intriguing match-up, it will be broadcast by the mighty RZA network as Match of the Day for everyone to enjoy 1800 GMT Social Distance Runners (6–2) @ HAMBURG SEA LIONS (5–3) The SEA LIONS ended their second consecutive tenure in the ELITE league with a win yesterday, too, although it did not do anything anymore except worsen their draft position. They secured another go at the highest level a few game days ago already and can prepare for next season. Maybe they’ll meet the Social Distance Runners then who finished the regular season in the Sea Devils league with an astonishing record of 16–0 and the #1 seed in their conference. These two teams did not meet in this Friendly Cup before, but nearly every other encounter over the last seasons was won by the Runners, mostly in dominant fashion. Especially when there was something at stake they usually did not let the SEA LIONS get in their way. But we’ve seen surprising outcomes in this Hullabalooza already, and we’re looking forward to another exciting game. Good luck to everyone today |

Great game Kottan. That 4th quarter comeback was scary! I thought you were going to take it away in the final couple of minutes. Good luck with the rest of your season!

Welcome to Game Day 10, the last one, of the New Year 24 Hullabalooza!
Deep in the postseason of S54, when only the best of the best still play meaningful games, two teams enter the field today to duke it out for the trophy of this Friendly Cup and follow the footsteps of the Lincoln Towncars (now known as the Idaho Idlers) who won New Year's Frenzy 23. And we close this tournament with the same match-up as it all started mid November of last year, as we’ll have this exciting final game of the tournament for you today: 1900 GMT Niceville Norsemen (8–1) @ HAMBURG SEA LIONS (6–3) When these two teams first met on a mild autumn afternoon in Hamburg to kick off this Friendly Cup it was an even game in the first Quarter. But then the Norsemen did not let the SEA LIONS score until the fourth Quarter while scoring a Touchdown in the second and third each. They won time of possession and had more first downs as well as total yards through running the ball at the SEA LIONS’ defense, thus controlling ball and clock. It was a smartly executed game plan that the home team had trouble standing up against. Both teams had their fair share of crushing losses in these past days, as they both exited the Supercup playoffs being almost shut out by their opponents. It’ll be exciting to see which one of them will end the season on a positive note by winning the trophy of this New Year Hullabalooza. Good luck to us both |
