And while we are at it, and we're still a couple days before the season really begins - are there any monarchist groups in the US?
I know, it sounds like a silly question. But in Poland, for example, such organisations actually do gain some interest. Except, in my view, they are kind of what aristocracy was in some countries at some point. You could buy into it, and once you had it, it didn't serve any function other than the social one. Seeing what ppl do sometimes to attract attention, I wouldn't be surprised to meet a count of Albany or a marchess of Texas, one day ;-) Last edited on 2024-02-08 09:34:00 by jpnwrt |

I think there are people in every country, which like the idea of a monarch family. Most of them likely only for the gossip.
Believe it or not, because King Charles has cancer in some sort, since the announcement there are regular news on something from the royal family for no reason in germany main news, the most serious ones. I don't look the gossip ones, but likely they do even more. Why? I don't know. |

I would speculate, that one of the factors is the growing feeling the world is no longer moving in the clear direction. Most of the post-war XX century era it was much more obvious. The world split between 2 blocks, with big chunk of the world belonging to neither and dominated but those two. The world was also modernising quickly, but not as fast as today, seems to me. And what's important - in the much more predictable direction.
Add to this climate risks. Globalisation which makes each country much more dependent on the rest of the world. Add to this the renewed intensity of the conflict between superpowers, and the yet not clear role new emerging superpowers will play in future. Add to this the generally accepted view, that older people are usually more likely to idealise the past (at least some of it) and are less likely to support dramatic social changes affecting not some remote world, but their own local reality - and then I think the growing interest in what's usually associated with the past is not totally surprising. ps. Especially since the media quickly smelled that interest and seem very eager to capitalise on it |

The 3rd pick is a 21 year old QB with yellows on the physics. If he caps good, I might sell him, or I cut him.

I was hoping for a player with reasonable CB potential but only 2 matched these hopes and went elsewhere.
Got my pick #7 on the list of those still available. Not bad for an RB. Young (19), trait (BB), uncapped speed and str upgradable, too, good int, acceptable tmw. Too bad he came that late. For several weeks I've been trying to get a player like that in the YA, but now I've got too many :-) Oh well. |

My third rounder is a young QB with uncapped strength. How well he develops will determine his status with the team.

hello monarchs,
the first Friday has come. Today the Sea Devils challenge the Dragons. Who are you cheering for? Who do you think will win? Tell the world here! But what is much more important is whether you believe that your region could also play such a challenge. Are you active enough players? Think about it and maybe we'll hear from you on this. |

Well, We're well into the seaskn and once again my team is looking on the cusp of being a major contender. At this point I'm stumped as to what to do to push me over the edge. I suspect the answer is a new playbook. I may spend the rest of this season as a test bed for a new Playbook
