Here's the spreads for the wildcard round of the playoffs:
- Dumbarajko Elephants @ KMN Mandalorians - Mandalorians by 16 Dumbo's MOTY got him a nice 1 playoff game paycheck, but that will be it. - Paris Guardians @ BobBoy Magpies - Magpies by 2 The numbers say it should be a close game; I think experience tips it more in favor of the Maggies. - Stone Mountain Hawks 2 @ Chelt Nam Bobbers - Hawks by 1 The Hawks rose from the melee of the NCE and the Bobbers floated to the top of the NCW morass. Which battle tested team can take the next step. It's a coin-flip game, but I'll take the Hawks since they had a harder road and the Bobbers will have to recover from a MOTY use. - Sydney Sea Eagles @ TigerCats - TigerCats by 4 Two vets duking it out - should be a good matchup. I'm going to go all loyal and pick my Fire mate to win it. Other tidbits on the end of season stats: Space Kraken had the easiest schedule this season and H2TAGIT4Q had the hardest. The ACN had the hardest schedule line-up (partly from being matched up against the NCE) and the ACW had the easiest. Of all those who made the playoffs, the Elephants had the worst regular season performace (but still good enough to make the playoffs) rated at scoring an average of 3.4 points more other other teams against the same opps. The two left-out NCE teams had ratings of 9.3 for the mystics and 6.5 for SDR. (The Sea Lions, who just missed the playoffs also had a 3.4 rating) The top 4 teams rated significantly higher than the rest of the field: PRY at 16.2, KMN at 16, Kraken at 14.7, Blitz at 13.3, next highest was Sunrise City at 9.5. The 4 top teams include the #1,2,3 best rush offenses and #1,3,4 rush defenses in the league, (and Sunrise had the #2 rush defense,) but they only included 1 highly rated pass offense and 1 highly rated pass defense. On a personal note, my team finished with 6 wins, which is what I projected. Won some I thought I'd lose and vice-versa. Lost two games in OT thanks to missed field goals, so could've have been 8-8, but still would get relegated with PD. Not saying my team deserved more; the Misery were rated 9th worst on my ADP stats. |

- Chelt Nam Bobbers @ Space Kraken - Kraken by 13 The Bobbers came up huge in the wildcards; can they do it again? They'll need to if they hope to advance. Very few survive in space. - KMN Mandalorians @ San Diego Blitz - even Clash of the titans! This one is a pick'em; good luck guessing the winner. It features the #1 rush offense vs the #1 rush defense, and the #1 pass offense vs the #2 pass defense. This one is match of the day for good reason. - Paris Guardians @ Sunrise City Prarie Dogs - Prarie Dogs by 7 The Guardians got an upset last week, so they can claim Cinderella status if they pull off another one here. It seems like a tall order, but they were the only team to beat the doggies in regular season, so keep an eye open. - Sydney Sea Eagles @ People Republic of Yorkshire - Yorkshire by 14 It feels weird to have the spread this big against the Eagles, but that's just how good PRY has been. But don't feel bad, the Eagles have had and will yet have better seasons. |

Paris Guardians are in Conference finals as a big underdog
Two big wins behind them can there be two more? France are in the semis of European championship in football can they have two more wins? Good luck to all of you guys. No matter what I will be cheering for AC because 5th and 6th seed play in finals. Has that ever happened? |
