I had some success with wins and losses, but my Pass Defense is always near the bottom of the league. What does one do you improve your Pass Defense?

Is it player builds or formations? More or less blitzing?

Do you mean the pop-up window in the league?
I think you can forget about that ... because according to the stats the bots have the best pass defense, the best real team in my league is 8th there.

Steve, i do believe it's a matter of opponent. If your opponents in a season do play 75% passing and 25% rushing, then the passing defense do suffer a lot.
Even if you are ranked #27 in passing defense, your rushing defense is #1 which means that you have a great defensive line and LB core or your opponents do prefer passing more against you.
Indeed more blitzing creates more pressure which will make the QB perhaps hurry up and throw more incomplete passes and also there is a chance if you use on 2nd & long or 3rd and long Dime or 3-1-7 with full blitz the chances are higher for an incomplete pass or a completion for less than a first down.

The thing is like this. In D1 because of boot vs boot games, they don't add to the offense and defense and of course, we the managers who play every week to have that disadvantage because in our case it always adds.
And, in Steve's case, that is not the point, because he plays in Elite.
In Elite all 32 teams have managers, so there is another story.

I think that the ranking is yards only so if you INT much, that doesn't count. Also, if the teams in your division pass a lot, you are in a pretty difficult spot for opposition yards so will always look bad, particularly if you run more than them - you will be 4th out of 4 in that situation.

I do think some formations help, and I think that blitz helps, though you have to be a bit careful as with the wrong combination of formation and blitz you may see long runs against you. Nothing's perfect of course.

I apologize, yes in Elite it's probably different since there are no bots team, I should have checked where his team plays first.

I'd like to bring up this topic again since it's a thing that haunts us since we entered this game: How do you improve Passing Defense?

The SEA LIONS are not capable to stop a primarily passing team (and with this I mean teams with a ratio of 4:1 an favor of passes over rushes*). We had success if the opponent was using one specific formation to pass from, but if the team on the opposite site of the field passes from multiple formations... or even only the two Shotgun-formations... we're not able to stop a nosebleed. It's not even a matter of strength of the opponent. And I'm out of ideas why that is.

Yes, having superb CBs / a great defensive backfield is mandatory, and we may lack a really good second CB, but those that we have are no slouches either.

Is it coaching? Or are, like Steve alluded to above, formations the key?

Just to throw in something that is quite often overseen: Most successful teams are kind of pass-prone. Since passing yards allowed heavily depends on the passing years produced by the attacking team, it is much harder to get a good pass defense rating, compared to rush defense, as example. Also, more positions are included in the pass defense calculation compared tu rush defense. However, the "pass defense" rating does not win any trophies.
